    Hello,

    I have a console (Xbox one elite) that has been a brick for around 8months.

    It got a update and died. I have tried EVERY fix on the internet as well as Ms with no results including USB offline files. I have tried Xbox support with same answers.. Pay $ and we will fix. My. Console is out of warranty. I don't see why a system update
    I couldn't opt out of I have to pay for since it broke it. I do not smoke and no kids or animals are in my. House and it is dusted weekly using a small compressor with a air water separator (so no condensation can be released into my Xbox)

    This is the same setup I use on my computers personal and customer. The system hasn't been moved since it was setup day 1. I have tried other power bricks, wires, and tv's.

    The screen is black and the Xbox makes noises when you touch the buttons but combos don't affect it. It will take a disc but doesn't do. Anything. Xbox support told me to come here and see if there was something you guys could do other than charge me for
    something I had no control over.

    I am not angry. Just frustrated over the issue as it seems pay more $ to fix a problem the mfg created or I'm. Out of luck.

    Contact Us page to set up a support call with a specialist who will be able to work through your options with you. ^_^

    If your console is bricked there is not much we can help here with. Since you have waited so long there is not much even support can do. Contacting support the moment the issue happened would have been the best thing to do.

    I did... No warrenty pay us $125 and we will fix the problem...

    Tried another time.. Always same answer.

    If I dropped it or maybe poured a drink in it that would be different but it was something I had no choice over. You can't skip a update or u don't game... If it was like Microsoft windows I could skip but... Yeah..

    That is still less then buying a entire new system. Like I said above waiting 8 months was not the best idea.

    i'm having that exact problem and i'm kind of stuck trying to troubleshoot wether it is the power brick or the console. amazon has the power brick for pretty cheap, so if it's the brick then it will act like a brick and fly.

    The reason your Power Brick is making a humming noise, is because inside of the power brick. Is a little fan, this fan keeps your Power Brick at the correct temperature. If your power brick gets hot, the fans RPM will increase and it will make a humming
    sound because your XBOX Power Brick Fan is cooling down your Power Brick. Nothing to worry about unless it's a roaring sound.

    are you sure its the console not the brick,listen close to the power brick as there is fans in there and they can get noisy.if so get another power brick

    Red light on power brick....but it's not hot!

    It sounds like your power brick is failing. Do you have access to another power brick so you can test to see if it is in fact your brick failing. Also make sure the brick in completely plugged into your xbox.

    *UPDATE* I'm not sure if it was because of the update or not but the root cause was my power brick. Either the update affected my power brick (which I don't know if it's even possible) or the power brick was faulty and just happened to
    have issues during the update. I took it to Gamestop and they plugged up a different power brick and it booted up fine. The old power brick always stays orange. If you have this issue, check the power brick.
