Bricked: Console crashing on all games.

My Xbox Series X has just suddenly started crashing whenever I try to play a game. Any game - digital, disc, new or old. Games freeze on loading screen and then dump me back to Home Screen.

I have tried usual troubleshooting, through Microsoft support. Resetting MAC address, complete hard reset (removed all saved games etc). Still the same. All video apps like Netflix work fine. The only thing I have yet to try is an offline update. Will attempt this when I get hold of a windows laptop.

Microsoft support were supposed to phone me back with further senior tech advice but didn’t. When I chased them they seemed mostly interested in closing the case and selling me a £254 repair, with an unknown warranty period. What a nightmare on a £450 console that I pre-ordered in Nov 2020, hence is now out of warranty

Not really sure if I want to buy MS again if their consoles brick 5 months after being out of warranty….

In that case, since your console's warranty is up, indeed, Microsoft charges for the repair. :/

You can either repair it with Microsoft directly, or look out for a Tech store in your region and take your console just for an analysis.

I also have a Series X, and that doesn't happen. Probably could be an issue on the console's SSD. :/

Any fix for the game by the developers wont fix consoles that have been bricked by the crashing as we are incapable of resetting our machines. This is for Microsoft to resolve.

Mine keeps randomly crashing and restarting when try playing games, literally a few mins in to any game it just restarts.

FYI a power supply built in causes massive heat and slows the console down. I think there's a reason why there's a power Brick. Its good to have a power brick graphics card and power supply in the same box will slow the game or crash it for sure may even
fry an egg if you get hungry

I have had to disconnect the external power brick and power cord, after 5 minutes, hold the power on/off button down for a count of 60 several times each month just to keep games from crashing to dash. Been doing that trick since the console was new. (Old
style X1) and the trick works.

Got a brand New X1-S given to us as a gift and it to will crash to dash during gameplay, but far less frequent than mine. Thing is, the power brick is internal. So how exactly do you. "literally disconnect the power brick and the power cord."?
