Breaker Tripping --- no issue for Xbox One but Xbox Series X directly into wall keeps tripping

As noted above, the Official Microsoft position is that it should be plugged directly into a wall socket.

Personally, I have had my Series X plugged into a surge protector since I owned it (last May) as I only have one wall socket near my Series X and my TV, monitor, PC and stereo all need plugging in as well. My One X was also plugged into it for a year. Have had no issues with either...and this included when I was having PC issues and my main house circuit breaker kept getting tripped.

If the 2-300w the Series X eats in average is tripping your breaker, you need to call a licensed electrician.

You should always plug your xbox directly into a wall socket you shouldnt use any type of extension lead that being said if your xbox is tripping one of your trips then its very likely that there is an issue with your xbox and you should arrange a repair.

Can you please try connecting the console directly to the wall outlet and not connect it to any extension leads or surge protector to see if you still experience the same issue, If you do please try using an outlet connected to a different trip switch to
see what happens?

Please be aware the Xbox One X has a higher power requirement than the Xbox One so it is possible that you may be overloading the circuit and causing it to trip

try a different power cable, if not then i would get an electrician to come test those sockets and take a reading to see if the sockets are bad or the console, least then you know and then you know you are safe.

if it turns out to be the console then send for replacement.
