Breakdown Error "the game couldn't start. Try downloading the game again."

I got a game called Breakdown for Xbox. and I am unable to play it on my Xbox 360. It gives an error msg "the game couldn't start. Try Downloading the game again" It is a disc and I have done the following Troubleshooting and it is still not working

Ensured it is compatible with Xbox 360

Updated xbox 360

Purchased new disc (thought it was the disc itself)

Cleared the Cache on all storage devices

rolled back software

Updated software again

reformatted storage devices

reached out to support (useless told me to reach out to manufacturer)

I do have an external USB and external harddrive both microsoft because I know some older games need it. I do have decent internet connection and do have xbox gold. Help!!!!

When you say you have an external HDD are you referring to the hard drives for the older fat models? Did the hard drive come with the console or was it purchased separately? If it was purchased separately, was it purchased new from a retailer or used/from
a third party like ebay? There are a lot of knock offs out there and they can look very official.

 

I had a similar issue when trying to play Hitman Blood Money. The only solution for me was to switch to using component cable instead of HDMI, (if using the component cable, you need to flip the switch on it to TV or SD [whichever one you have]) then switching
my resolution down to 720i in the display settings on the console, also switching the PAL from 50 to 60. You could try this & see if it works...
