Brazil Now

I'm not watching via the TV app either. I'm streaming via the ESPN app. Seriously, no polls because of that?!?!?

 

A number of people across the web are saying you need to use the TV app with it. I set up my 360 with ESPN app and the Xbox One on TV with Brazil Now snapped on MATCH DETAILS. No poll yet.

Not sure why Microsoft would require you to even have the game on. The Brazil Now app shouldn't care.

 

Just got the first poll when using the 360 and TV app.

So does need the TV app running.

 

That is so dumb, I don't have a cable box and I just want to use ESPN

 

MichMasteR if you are using the TV app and have Brazil Now running then go to Match Fixtures>Select the active match (England vs Italy is next) and keep it snapped through the game. The polls will show up usually around goals or fouls.

TheFierceStorm. Yeah me either, luckily I had my Xbox 360 still so using the ESPN app on that instead of the Xbox One. So same app just different set up just to get the polls.

You could do it with a laptop that has HDMI OUT as well.

Go to ESPN: The Worldwide Leader in Sports and log in to your Internet provider when it prompts you (works with Comcast at least). The on the Xbox One set it to TV as the main window and Brazil Now as the snapped one.

Why it was made this way I'm not sure. Watching the ESPN app on Xbox One should have worked the same in my opinion.

 

MichMasteR you load Brazil Now, go to Fixtures and select the Live game that is playing or about to play and then the polls will show up there at random times.

 

No notifications for me yet, so not very useful if you can't trust them. Also, can't use the Watch Live command, and the app doesn't seem to realise the match is on. Do you have to have the app snapped for polls to work... Who's really going to have this
snapped for the whole game?

Great idea, but it needs to work.

 

Yes, the app has to be snapped. The polls last 30 seconds so by the time you got a notification it would be ending.

You need to snap the Brazil Now app and go to the current Live match in the Fixtures option.

I have Brazil Now snapped, has a lot of good stats and info that shows up throughout the game.

Only issue I have found is that WatchESPN is about 5-30 seconds behind live. So you sometimes get polls about a goal or foul that hasn't happened on your screen yet. So you will see "Was that foul a valid call?" and of course you haven't seen it to make
that decision yet.

 

I've had three polls now, only one of which I got a card for. I'm not really interested in collecting the cards, but I thought that was how you got the cards.

If you have to have it snapped, I just can't see this taking off. Having notifications coming up while watching, which you can respond to straight away, makes way more sense. No one I watch the football with is going to want to lose any of the screen space
to Brazil Now, just to have the number of fouls and yellow cards displayed repeatedly.

I can see this being great in the future, but not if it has to stay snapped. Even if just the notifications worked reliably would be good, but I've only had a couple of very delayed goal alerts.

 

Okay, got the questions popping up on Saturday and managed to get 6 cards. Wasn't home at all on Sunday... and then watched the entire Germany v. Portugal game on ESPN (TV, not App) and didn't see a single question pop up. Either this thing works, or it
doesn't. With 96 cards to collect and a 50 / 50 chance at best, they need to step up the number of questions dramatically.

 

Two games today, no questions asked. Did the collectibles break??

 

Left in on today while doing something else, just out of interest. Had a poll question, answered, and no card again.

 

Halfway through US game, no questions. Anyone got anything? Still think it's broke.

 

Okay... 2 days, 6 games, no questions asked after finally getting answers on how the collectibles work. This is crap.

 

Had 6 cards in one game the other day, so it must be a bit random whether it works.

My biggest issue is having to have the app snapped for the whole thing. It takes up too much space. Apps that extend sports or other TV would be great, but would be better done by a discreet overlay for polls etc. Even a notification that takes you to the
app when needed would be better. I don't want a quarter of the screen being taken up the whole time, especially for football I'm properly watching.
