Brand new xbox x wont connect to wifi!!!!

I do not have xbox one x, but I had a similar problem with the previous version. To solve, I had to change the wifi channel on my router. I've changed it from 14 to 6. Try this to solve your problem.

I would say that if you are having problems, to try checking out our setup guide for the console at

Set up your Xbox One console and see if that helps you out.

Another thing I was going to suggest is maybe try to connect to another wireless network or maybe connect with an actual ethernet hard wire.

If those steps don't work and you get stuck, I would suggest maybe exchange the console with the retailer you got it from or you can get it serviced by going to either

device support or
customer support directly.

Thanks so much! We actually got it sorted, I manually add the mac address via the modem.

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

Kindly perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps below:

1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.
