brand new xbox wont read games

I have the same problem, Bought a new Xbox One with CoD:Ghost. The console wouldnt read the game disc, but would play BlueRay disc. I ended up buying CoD digital copy ( Download ).

Today Gamestop gave me a hard time when i tried to return my "faulty" disc, they wanted to give me a fresh CoD hardcopy ( after i had bought the digital download ). After arguing for a while ( there was a lineup for the D3 release ) i ended up having store
credit.

tl:dr Microsoft's shortcoming with the new patch is building friction at the game stores. I will never buy an other hard copy, too much hassle.

I have the same problem brand new blackops 2 wont work. The game starts and then it just says disc read error.

i have to pick my xbox up and hold it in weird angles

like with the drive pointed toward the ceiling...

I have the same issue, and tried everything, installing, clearing cache, deleting and re-installing title updates, removing any external hard drives, removing and re-installing internal hard drive, on third copy of the game and still nothing. XBox is less
than a year out the factory and yet I have this issue. My friends have xbox's several years older than mine and it works fine..... Xbox support is no help!
