Brand new xbox one X having issues with wireless controllers - controllers dc when ethernet is ...

I received an xbox one X today and have been having issues getting the wireless controllers to work.

Before starting, i would like to first mention that I did try using the controller in the box and a known working controller that works on another xbox. They both exhibit the same problems.

I am a technician so I first attempted to troubleshoot the issue myself, which gave me these results

-Xbox will not always turn on with the controller. if it does turn on, the sync button works, and the signal on the xbox controller will work for up to 10 minutes before cutting out again.

-If the xbox does not turn on with the controller, the sync button on the xbox console does not work at all. It does not flash no longer how long i press it and the controller never syncs.

-Unplugging the ethernet cable will always cut out the controller connection consistently. It worked 5 out of 5 times when i tested it.

-Plugging in the controller using a wired connection works perfectly fine.

-Wifi works perfectly fine.

I attempted to open the console and removed both cards in the xbox and then placed them back, to no avail.

I wanted to know if anyone had a similar problem and knew what to do.

EDIT: also, the xbox one x's connection works much better when the black housing is off, which really makes me scratch my head.

alternately, if anyone knew where to buy the wifi board itself, I would be willing to buy one instead of sending the console in for repair.

Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition Controller Connection

So to start, every controller that I try with the Xbox have the same disconnection issue. I've checked every controller that I've tried for updates and they are all currently updates. I do use rechargeable batteries, but they are almost brand new, so they
should not need replaced. The controllers all work fine with my original Xbox One, with no disconnections at all, but when I use them with the X, they disconnect sometimes without a reason.

 

Xbox One X syncing controller issues

So my Xbox One X recently started having syncing issues with any controller I use new or old. It appears to be a software issue because even when I connect a controller with a micro USB cable it will either not work or work for a few seconds and then stop
working and then work again and repeat. When I click the sync button directly under the power button it won't even attempt to search for nearby devices at all.

Sometimes when my controller is working fine with the Xbox it'll automatically unsync randomly.

Is there a fix or update for this issue it's been happening for like 3 months now. It was fine when I first got my Xbox One X at launch.

 

How often has this happened?

 

If it is an issue with the brand new Xbox One X, you have voided your warranty.

Can you please try following the support steps in the guide below reference your controller issues. However it does sound like you have some form of inference going on that is affecting connecting your controller to your console please be aware it could
be as simple as moving your console or router a little bit.

Please be aware if you have taken the cover off your console or dismantled the controller it is no longer possible to return them to Microsoft for repair.

 

as far as warranty is concerned, I was able to get an Xbox one S warrantied after it was opened. The latest FTC ruling also helps in this regard.

However I want it to be a last ditch effort if anything, as I rather fix it myself.

 

as much as I want to believe it's interference, there would be no excuse as to why my old first generation xbox one would work fine while in the same spot for 4 years, and recently with a router next to it, where my new xbox one X wouldn't. I went as far
as placing it on top of the router when it connected one of the few times and it did not cut out any differently.
