Brand new XBox One won't verify email address

Bought it today. At the last step for setting it up and it asks me to verify my email address. It sends the code to my email. I receive the email. I see the code. I type the code into the xbox and..... nothing. It just says "this information is required".
I typed it in, but it's not enough apparently.

What am I missing here?

UNABLE TO LOG INTO MY PREVIOUS XBOX LIVE ACCOUNT

I attempted to log into my current XBox Live Account on my new Xbox One. I entered the email and password, but then it said it had to send an email to VERIFY my email address. That email address belonged to my son and we cant access it anymore. My phone
number is on file with Xbox, so are they able to send a code or something to verify?

Hi there, have you tried doing this through the PC? If you sign-in and follow the steps at the link you should have no issue through the PC:

support.xbox.com/.../add-security-contact-information

 

I bought mine today. I get to the same place. I'm putting in the code from my email. It says "this information is required." I've logged into Xbox on my computer but I'd really like to use the gaming system I just bought!

 

^You should be making your own thread, but sometimes the console has issues verifying the code and is best done through the PC, once you've verified the security proofs it should work find on the console after, follow the steps at the above link.

 

I got the same thing....I entered my email address in the box when it wouldn't take the code and it worked
