Brand new Xbox one will not get past initial setup! Please help!

Hello, I just recently bought a BRAND NEW xbox one and i'm very highly frustrated that it is already *** up on me. Can't even set it up? Are you kidding me microsoft?? Ok so enough rant!

**This is the version without the kinect. It is the 500GB Assassins creed bundle.

I plugged everything up and turned it on. Everything seemed to be working pretty good. I connected it to my wifi. Started the update, left the room for a while and my sister in law walked into the room and told me that it gave some kind of error while updating
and that it couldn't update. So I went in there to see what error it was and it went away as soon as I walked in and continued to update. It progressed to ask me what country i'm in, then what time zone i'm in, then this is where it got tricky. It went to
something called Power and it keeps trying to give me two options but it either 1: freezes up or 2: shuts off on this screen. then when i reset the thing it freezes up on the green screen. I have tried the hard reset where you unplug it for 30 seconds and
it gets me no where. I have tried running the OSDUT2 file but it did nothing for me still does the same thing. I have also tried the System restore file on USB and I'm not for sure if it is working or not because everytime I restart it, it goes to the update
and acts like it is going to update then it completely skips the update and says "you don't need to update" and goes right back to the screen where it asks what country i'm in and when it gets to the power part again it either freezes up or it shuts off. I
think something went wrong with the initial update but what the heck am I supposed to do since the system restore to default settings doesn't delete the old updates out?? I have recorded the power screen thing and posted it to youtube, if it will let me post
a link then I will.

**Also I currently haven't tried the OSDUT1 file thing since it was downloading all night last night, but when I get home off of work I will try it and see if it can detect something. please help me..I hate that I spent 400 dollars on this system and can't
even get it past the setup!!

There was a problem with update

Brand new xbox one. Setup was good. Entered langauage, country. Tested wired, wireless connections. Both were good. Got error message: There was problem with update. Tried offline update. After applying update from USB drive, it was time to update again.
I got same error message: There was a problem with update. Help. I need to get past this initial update to use my Brand New Xbox one

sniper 3 game will not install past 28%

Purchased a brand new Sniper 3 game for xbox one and it will not install past 28%. I have tried everything i know. Please help!

Sorry you're having issues with your new Xbox console. It looks like it's not getting past the power options selection, which could be due to a bad update if you did get an error while updating. The first thing I would suggest is just exchanging it
if it's brand new. I know it's likely not what you want to do, but that is what I would if I were in your shoes. Also, if you've tried the hard reset and offline system update tool, then you've already done the bulk of the troubleshooting for this issue. One
thing you can try the is Factory Reset file.

If, after a system update, the console is experiencing an issue that would require you to Restore Factory Defaults, but you're unable to access the Settings hub, you will use this file
located here under the OSDUT.

Hopefully that gets you set up, but again if it were me, I would just exchange it if possible.

We'd like to get a bit more information on what's going on so we can take a closer look. Can you walk us through the process you took before seeing this issue? Perhaps you might be able to post a screenshot as well?

try to reformat your xbox. that should get rid of your profile and it will run the initial set up of you xbox as if you just bought it. it will restore all settings back to default and it will be like you bought a brand new xbox.

to do this go to the main menu of your xbox - settings - system - initial setup

just a warning the initial setup will delete all saved games and profiles so if you had a game that you were playing and u got half way through it you would have to start over after the setup.

I don't think the other people who replied understand what you are asking because I'm having the same problem. My brand new Xbox One S is going to sleep/turning off DURING the straight out the box initial set up update. Not AFTER it's fully downloaded the
update and it auto restarts. And when I turn the Xbox one back on, the initial set up update starts over. You can't get to the settings yet to set it to download even when the console is off/sleep because it can't get past the initial set up update. Nobody
has time to sit in front of the TV for hours, wiggling the controller sticks every 5 mins to keep the controller/Console from going to sleep partially through the Initial setup update and having to start over. It's been 3 days and I haven't been able to play
one single game yet on my new Xbox One S. Is there any way to prevent this?

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one! I bought a brand new Xbox One today but I can't get past the initial system update. Is it possible that this has something to do with Xbox Live being down? I hope so because I would hate to go through all the hassle of
bringing this back to the shop that I purchased it from.
