Brand new Xbox One S not playing Xbox360 game supplied by Game Pass

Hey everyone,

I've a brand new Xbox One S, which I'm, eager to try out. I purchased the Xbox Game Pass which allows me to access a massive library of games, including Xbox360 games. Whenever I try to launch a game from the
Xbox360 which I downloaded from the store, we get the errors message that something went wrong (0x80070002 is the error which is given).

Here's some things we tried already:

Re-Downloading the games

Restarting the console

Resetting the console to factory settings (keeping games and application)

Resetting the console to factory setting (completely)

Setting the DNS Servers to manual and using the codes as following:

Primary: 8.8.8.8

Secondary: 8.8.4.4.

Performing a power cycle

Every game which isn't an Xbox360 game and is included in the game pass downloads and executes just fine, such as Human Fall Flat and Minecraft.

The games we've tried to start up from the Xbox360 collection are as follows:

Banjo Kazooie

Banjo Tooie

Fallout New Vegas

If there's anyone out there whose able to help us out, I would very much appreciate it!

Heya, i cant help you but give you the advise to join us in this topic
*klick* where we have the exact same problem with all Xbox360 games not being playable on our Ones after the newest updates... good luck and if you find a way around tell us we'd appreciate it

Hi, you have to really hunt around for an original Xbox One branded power supply. There are plenty of third party ones on game store sites and Amazon.

You can't buy a power supply for an S or X as they are both internal.

I just bought a brand new Xbox One X, but when I go to the store, Flight Simulator and other Xbox Series X/S games say they are "not playable on this device" and I can't get Flight Simulator to install on my brand new Xbox One X because it says it's "not compatible". Very frustrating.

So you bought an Xbox One X and expected to be able to play an Xbox Series X game on it?

Why would a game made for an Xbox Series X work on an Xbox One X?

If you want to play Xbox Series X/S games I would take your brand new Xbox One X back to the store you bought it and see if they will take it back and you could try and buy an Xbox Series S (Series X consoles are very hard to find, but a Series S can be found fairly easilly)

Similar issue. Xbox 360 S 250gb, plays large collection of discs no problem. Brand new AC4, and Rocksmith 2014 won't load (unable to read). New AC3 plays fine. No used games, these are all brand new.

Xbox backwards compatability for Xbox One, Xbox360, and Original Xbox vary on a per title basis.
