Brand new Xbox one s not playing discs

Similar issue. Xbox 360 S 250gb, plays large collection of discs no problem. Brand new AC4, and Rocksmith 2014 won't load (unable to read). New AC3 plays fine. No used games, these are all brand new.

well its christmas day, unboxed xbox one s and it not loading any disc games or blu ray, is console faulty? or am I doing something wrong? Not had xbox or any other games console before so not sure what to expect

Exchange it straight away. That's not normal and you shouldn't have to be doing any messing around. It should work.

Many years ago I bought a brand new 360 and it was faulty out of the box so it does happen from time to time.

Hey there, have you tried to Power Cycle your console? To do this hold down the Xbox power button for 10 seconds, hopefully, this works.

I'm sorry to hear the new Xbox is not responding to any games in the disc drive. So nothing happens when you put in the disc where it should usually prompt you to start installing the game. If it does not do that then the disc should say "Launch" from the
first tile on the home dashboard and go ahead and select that.

Go ahead and hard reset and power cycle your Xbox to fully reboot the power unit. Hold the power button down on the console for about 10 secs until the console turns off and then unplug the power cable from the Xbox and the wall for a few minutes. After
a few minutes, go ahead and power the console back on and try again.
