brand new xbox one, mic wont fit in controller

hi I just got my very own sunset overdrive xbone bundle, and I tried to connect the mic into the controller, but it doesn't seem to fit, I tried inserting it from angles, i tried to wiggle it, i even tried using hulk-like strength. any solutions?

My new chatpad will not fit any controller!

I received a new chatpad for Christmas and I can not seem to fit it on any controller. I have already broken one controller attempting connect the two. I just went and bought a brand new standard wireless Xbox One controller at Best Buy yesterday and still
can't seem to get the chatpad to fit or connect.......

hello, i just bought an xbox one chatpad and it wont fit my xbox one "s" controller but it can fit my normal xbox one controller. Is there a different between the two versions of controllers because i dont see any difference between the two and am very,
very confused as to why it fits my normal controller but not my "s" controller.

I was having the same problem, mic goes in fine into my black controller but with the sunset overdrive one i found that i have to push up on the mic and down on the controller when inserting it

Both mics are xbox official headsets and controllers, one of the controllers is a day one edition but just bought another brand new official xbox controller to see if that was the problem. The Mic just randomly stopped working one evening. And yes the
mic symbol is shown in the top right hand corner with no line through it

ye the slot where the mic fits into the controller?

it cant use any xbox 360 mics without an adapter but if what you suspect is true and their have changed it for a usb or micro usb that would be great

sucks that all 360 stuff wont work but should allow for more universal mics to be used which would be great news

ive got the cheap TB which is basicly a high quality version of the mic you get with your xbox so if it doesnt plug into the controller its useless

I bought a brand new xbox one-s controller so that it would have the 3.5mm input for a mic so that I could talk to my friends. I then bought the xbox one CloudX Stinger Core headset. When I plug the headset into the controller, I get no audio and the mic
isn't recognized. When I go to the xbox controller options, the "Volume" option is greyed out. When I try to start a party, it says "We can't find a microphone for these people".

I have tried updating the controller with the mic plugged in, but as it is a brand new controller, there wasn't an update available. I have also tried restarting the xbox/controller and unplugging the mic, but it still isn't being recognized as plugged
in. I have plugged the mic into my computer and it gets both audio and hears my voice, so I do not believe it is the headset.

I am very frustrated that a brand new controller and brand new headset that I only got because it is Xbox licensed is not working. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds to me it could possibly be your 3.5mm jack inside your controller. I just had to replace mine. Hope this helps.

I'm having the same issue with the Xbox branded headset when plugged into the Chatpad. Happened after one of the updates. I can hear fine but no one can hear me.

It's definitely some sort of issue with the update. I bought brand new controllers, Chatpad and mic to verify same issue with the new ones
