    Have been a 360 user for many years now, didnt want to upgrade, but when all your mates do its hard not to follow...

    So I saved up, got enough money togther, got a mate to get one of of the catalogue... simple huh, next day delivery, brand new.. what could do wrong?

    Well I got it on the Wednesday... spent the afternoon setting it up, making sure i had read the guides and so turned it on, and it seemed not to work, controller wouldnt connect for very long and the console seemed slow, didnt know if it was down to the controller
    or what.

    So I spoke to support, they said "new batteries will solve your issue" so I went and bought the best batteries the local shop had, some nice duracell ones, fitted them, no change, so back onto support, they asked can i borrow a controller to check its not the
    controller. No, but I can go and buy another one, spend the last of my money I was going to spend on a new game.

    So I run off to town, get a new controller and USB lead, this made a tiny differerence, for a little while, but still the controller was turning off, loosing connection. So I got back onto support, told them the steps I had been through, I had tried 2 other
    USB cables and had no joy!

    I have no wireless router or wifi card in my pc, i switched my phone off, nothing seemed to make much difference!

    So 2 days into my Xbox One journey, I was already gettin really wound up, and more so the fact that support give you rough info, I was told forst of all there was no sync button on the console, it was only when I googled it i told the moron I was talking too
    they need to get things straight before telling others how to do things.

    So next day, back onto support, ends up ill have to return my xbox as the retailer wont take any opened electricals, so im given the option of an exchange, but the webpage wont let me add my card, having tried 2 different cards I gave up with that, and now
    im lookng at a 3 week wait, but im worried, if they find nothing wrong with it in their factory where they do repairs, ill get an xbox back i cant use because it wont work, what do I do then??

    It seems like this issue of constantly disconnecting controllers is an issue had by many people not a minority, what have others tried or done??

    I cant sync my controller, the button on the side of the console doesnt flash the power light, so its not searching for the controller, when i power it on with USB cable connected to the controller it doesnt find the controller either...

    The way I look at it, ive spent £320 on a pretty looking heater..!

    I think I found the issue. Apparently Xbox Ones are not compatible with a 5ghz networks or at least not when they have 40mhz bandwidth on... So this is what I had to do, forget the 5ghz network (and its higher speed) connect the xbox to the 2.4ghz b/g/n
    network. It all magically started working. So the Xbox One is not compatible with a 802.11 spec published in 2009. Luckily for me I don't have any 80.11b devices at home as per the spec all devices operate at the slowest connect spec speed. (11Mbs - b) (54MBits
    - g) (150 - n 2.4hgz/20) (300/600 Mbits -5ghz/40). I guess 54Mbits should work.

    But at least the thing works and my kids can use it.

    If you ever see this issue in the future have the users connect to a 2.4 network to test.

    The chances of getting 2 xboxs that wont connect because they are "bad" are pretty slim ...much more likely to have something to do with your setup , which seems to be a little advanced , some ports forwarded , others not ,

    email server and have SSH to a linux server , minecraft game server ...has to be in there somewhere imo...good luck on the PS4 ...

    Sound to me like you got a faulty console, and no matter that the retailer has told you otherwise, they are responsible for said console, you can demand this to be replaced as soon as, if they continue to try and dodge responsibilty then you should contact
    your local trading standreds office, and let them know if they do do not replace said console you will be taking this up with trading standards......that usually forces them minto action.

    But they are responsible, so contact them and tell them replace or trading standard will be getting involved.

    ^^ Yep,completely right.The retailer has to exchange the console or offer a refund.

    They may try & fob you off saying it's down to the manufacturer but it is down to the retailer.

    The retailer won't take any opened electrical items back? How the heck are you supposed to find out if they work or not?

    Faulty is faulty. They have to take it back.

    I bet you got a customer service rep who didn't know what you were asking, they will refund your money.

    Don't buy from a catalogue retailer, you can get 1 from Amazon for less than the £320.

    I am having this problem as well. Brand new series x, brand new controller, brand new batteries. System is up to date and so is the controller. Has to be a software issue, this does not happen on my Xbox One.
