    Brand New Xbox One - Green Logo Screen and then Black Screen


    Hello, and thanks for looking over my issue.

    So I just got an Xbox One for my birthday, took it out of the box and set it up. Turned it on, waited on the green logo screen, and then it went to a black screen and sat there. Nothing has happened since. No setup screen, no asking to turn the controller
    on, nothing. It's been on it for about ... 15-20 minutes. Do I keep waiting, or am I already in need of a new system?

    Is anyone still having trouble with this? I've tried 10 sec power button hold. Unhooked all the wires and let it sit for a couple of hours. Changed HDMI cables. Changed TV's. None of these worked. If anyone found a sure fire solution, please let me know.

    possibly try a different tv and hdmi cable to make sure but , no , that dosent sound good.....

    I've tried two different hdmi cables (including the one that came with it.) I haven't tried a different tv, but I don't think it should make that much of a difference? I had my xbox 360 hooked up to this monitor before.

    Just dropping in to let people know that my issue has been solved! I hit up Microsoft's chat support and they helped me out.

    I had to download offline updates to a usb (here), using the restore factory defaults step since my console was brand new and nothing was
    on it to begin with. I did come across a network error the first time I booted via usb, but I tried again and then my Xbone launched normally through the setup.

    Just thought I'd explain how my issue was fixed in case anyone else comes across the same issue!

    Still haven't received the new system update!

    When I turn on the One I get the usual green screen but after that I get a long black screen and the the Xbox logo shows up right in the centre of the black screen. It's almost as if it tries but fails to grab the update. Also, unfortunately, I only have
