    Brand New Xbox One compatible 360 Game will not work!


    I received (in September 2016 and am still struggling) a brand new 2 disc xbox one compatible game of the year edition Red Dead Redemption game. Xbox one will not register/acknowledge the discs, so I cannot download/play the game. I contacted Xbox/Micrsoft
    and Rockstar and spent months via chat and phone trying everything they could think of with no success. It has to be a setting or something on my system because I tried the game in my boyfriend's Xbox One and it worked fine. This is my first gaming system
    since Nintendo and Atari (yes, I grew up old school) and I have never owned another Xbox system (no 360 or kinnect or any of that). My boyfriend was so excited to get me this game and proud of himself because he knew I loved watching him play, so we are both
    rather upset. I know it is console, not disc related, but I'm confused as to why it won't work on my system, how do I fix this? PLEASE HELP!!!!

    *Also, the console is a Halo special edition one, not sure if that matters?

    Xbox 360 - Xbox One FAQ

    The Xbox One will not be Backwards Compatible. The new system will only work with new games. It does not have the ability to play Xbox 360 games or original Xbox games nor can it play XBLA or other downloaded games. But Microsoft has announced that Xbox
    One might be backwards compatible in the coming future. Possible through the cloud.

    Xbox 360 to Xbox One

    You will need to buy Xbox One games, as the Xbox One is not backwards compatible. Xbox 360 games will not work on the Xbox One, and Xbox One games will not work on the 360. Sorry!

    The game is backwards compatible with the 360, but not the One. In order for backwards compatibility to work, the 360 requires an official MS brand 360 hard drive.

    If you mean the current Games with Gold game for the 360, it's actually an original Xbox game that is backwards compatible with the 360. In order for backwards compatibility to work on the 360, it requires an official MS brand 360 hard drive.

    Why is the headset adapter so expensive?

    If you own an accessory that is made to be compatible with a certain brand...and it works with the brand you bought it for (XB 360) if that company puts out an brand new device (XB1), it it not that companies responsibility to make adapters for you to use
    older non compatible equipment on... it is the accessories company to make that adapter... how hard is that to understand?

    Yes they are compatible it black ops and black ops 2 both brand new disc and work in a 360 just fine my xbox one reads and plays all xbox one disc and blu Ray's and 4k movies but will not read or play dvd movies or 360 backward compatible games I've done
    system updates online and offline updates I've soft reset and hard reset and I've factory reset also and have no luck dont understand why it can read all disc except dvd and 360
