    Brand new xbox one bricked


    My console is less than 2 months old , and its basically a paper weight now. Its not updatong andd games started crashing a lot so i did a factory reset. Now it wont go beyond the update stage on the start up menu. I have tried everything from pulling the
    power chord out to an offline update to resetting my console numerous times. Nothing seems to be working. Should i asume my console is dead now ? And any way i can get it up working again ?

    How long is the warranty from the place you bought it? It's worth asking if they'll exchange it.

    My first guess would be the power brick.

    Was the console brand new when you bought it & are you using the correct power brick for your country?
    Yes - brand new. And it's the right one for my country.

    Xbox support insists that if the orange light is solid on standby, everything is fine. Is there any way to check the power brick other than looking at the light?

    I bought one many years ago from a user on Ebay, it was a aftermarket power brick and had no name brand. It did not work for me. Either the power brick was bad, or that wasn't the problem that I thought it was with the Xbox One not working. But I plugged
    the new one in, and nothing happened. It wouldn't work and still wouldn't turn on. I wound up getting rid of that Xbox and getting a new one. Just be careful if you buy an aftermarket one. If you get one, I'd recommend getting a good, reliable name brand or
    a Microsoft one. Good luck!
