Brand new Xbox-One, all kinds of issues...

I just got this Xbox-One 3 weeks ago, the first problem is it constantly disconnects from the internet. My 360 would do this like once a month maybe and resetting the modem would fix it, this never seemed to work for the One though, so I spent the money
on a ridiculously long cable and found a way to snake it around to the One, but alas, the same problem keeps happening. I don't know how it could possibly lose connection when it's wired, but it happens like a dozen times everyday (you can imagine the annoyance
when your trying to watch Netflix). My home computer runs on the same internet (wireless from all the way across the house I might add) and never has any internet connection issues. I have tried every suggestion I can find. Is this just an Xbox-One fail or
is there something else I can do?

Next, after going through the ridiculous process of having to make my 6yr old an email address just so he could have his own profile (so I could restrict it) the Xbox-One can't seem to NOT sign him in, even when he's at school. The Xbox signs me in no problem,
even if I just walk past in the background and doesn't ever sign me in when I'm not there, but when it comes to my son I have to constantly sign him out to play or watch adult content because apparently the One always thinks he is in the room. It also thinks
my wife his him, she always has to manually sign in cause to the Xbox she looks like a 6yr old boy with a mohawk. I've calibrated and re-calibrated the Kinect every way possible but this still happens. Any ideas?

Next, the Xbox doesn't play games on the first try because it can't verify it? The disc is in, It's a game I bought and own fair and square but we have to do this dance with it until it will just play the game. Sometimes it works on the first try but usually
we have to exit 2 or 3 times before it will just play the game. Then it has this issue with restarting a game while your in the middle of playing it, and boy that can be a real *** let me tell you. Why did I have to spend all this time installing and updating
if the One can't figure it out? I'd prefer the 360 method of insert and play any day of the week. But, since that's not gonna happen is there a way to fix this?

Next, Lately the One has, I guess, finally succumb to the verbal berating I've been giving it because it likes to just shut off on it's own now, randomly but it will do it like 2 or 3 times in a row. It will turn off, I will turn it on, it will turn off,
I will turn it on and maybe it will stay on. The Xbox could not possibly be in a better place for ventilation as it is all by itself on a table with an overhead fan, well, overhead. The power supply is also on a little pedastool of it's own so it's not buried
in cables or on the carpet. Despite this lavish treatment the thing still quits on me.

Lastly, The One seems to get stuck frequently. Like when I'm signing my son out for the 10th time it will just sit there with the circle going around and around and around until I force it to do something else. It does this starting and stopping apps, signing
in and out, etc. I'm not sure what it's doing or why but I'd like it to stop.

I have been a loyal Microsoft and Xbox customer for over 6 years now and I feel really let down with this system. The Xbox was awesome, the 360 was amazing and I was uber excited for the One but for the first time I'm regretting buying one of your systems.
I was pretty frustrated that I had to give up my 80+ games cause you can't figure out that backwards compatibility would be the biggest success story a console could ever have, I was a little disappointed at the obvious lack of storage (considering the install
requirements for games), I was a little put off you were turning the Xbox into a home entertainment center instead of a gaming platform, but I am loyal and figured you'd have my back, so here I am, please help.

Thank you and I'm sorry for any smarta** behavior on my part, I come by it naturally.

    :)

Why Can't 360 Controllers Work On Xbox One?

I think the OP kind of answered their own question, and its more to do with money than anything else. While there might have been an incompatibility issue, I'm sure that the geniuses at Microsoft could have made it so the 360 controllers DID work on the Xbox one, but for one thing, why would they want to?

A brand new console, you also get brand new peripherals, and that's just the way all companies do things usually, not just Microsoft.

    BRAND NEW Xbox One Issues....

I bet you got a customer service rep who didn't know what you were asking, they will refund your money.

Don't buy from a catalogue retailer, you can get 1 from Amazon for less than the £320.

Wow, that's a laundry list. Lemme see if I can clear some of this up.

    1) A computer's demands on your network vs the systems demands on your network are really apples and oranges. The system for instance is going to be a lot more sensitive to interruptions. The PC will just hang up or has stronger networking tools to force
a stronger connection. But then on the flipside it could be an issue with the networking card, but it's definitely a rare issue. We'll come back to this.

    2) You can actually turn off the Kinect recognition for his, or even all of your accounts. I have actually had this issue myself. Evidently the system thinks I'm my dopey looking yellow lab. It's good times. The good news is it's a known issue and it
    is something their working on.

    3) Now this is the big one, this is usually an indicator that the ODD (Optical Disc Drive) is going bad. This right there is an automatic replacement. If you're past the point you can return it to the store, I'd give support a call or use the self service
site and set up an exchange. But this could be a symptom of another issue...

    4) The power issues are cause for concern as well. I can see that you're babying it by keeping it off the carpet, which is good, but the big thing is where you have it plugged in. You didn't really say so I'll ask, do you have the system plugged into a
power strip or a surge protector? If you do, we need to fix that. The PSU (Power Supply Unit) for the X1 has it's own built in surge protector and can be plugged directly into a wall socket, which is what it was made for anyway. If this is the case I'd
suggest resetting your PSU by unplugging it from both the outlet it's in and the X1 and then plug it into a wall socket first and then the X1. Watch the PSU light when you do this and make note of what it does here.

    5) This sounds like a software glitch and is usually cleared up with a standard hard reset. Hold down the power button on the front for 10 secs, let it sit for 10 secs, turn it back on. Easy.

1-5) Now all these issues combined with our last system update, can cause a bit of havoc that can cause a myriad of issues. If none of these trouble shooting steps work, you can always go with the nuclear option and try resetting the system to factory defaults,
settings->system->restore factory defaults, and then see if that helps. But that should always be the last resort.

Post back up here and let me know if any of this helps.

    Good luck.

    Thank you for the response.

I did the hard reboot and the power supply was plugged into a strip so I unplugged everything then plugged it back in the way you said. The light turned white for about 5 seconds then switched to yellow, it now turns white when the xbox is on. So far all
the glitches seem to have gone away, except the sign in problems with the kinect, and when I first turn the system on it doesn't always connect to live right away, sometimes I have to go to check my connection where it says everythings fine then I go back
and live is up. I appreciate the help, I'll let you know if it holds up.

Turtle Beach static / not working

All the controllers are updated my iPhone is on to receive phone calls but is not in use similar with my iPads no microwave or other interference through those kind of appliances barring a refrigerator on. I just bought a brand-new Xbox to see if that would
be the issue but that did not seem to be the problem and I doubt I would have to Wi-Fi bad cards into Xbox one consoles.
