Brand new XBOX 360 making quite some noise

Hello guys ,

as you might have already noticed I am a bloody newbie in the XBOX 360 business (though quite experienced gamer on PC) and I hope that you guys will help me out a bit.

Today I finally got myself a new XBOX 360 E (500GB with FIFA 15 , bundle from Media Markt here) and was quite happy to finally have a console to play on. After running all the setups and creating a Live profile and entering the code for the activation ,
I put FIFA 15 inside the 360 in order to play a bit.

Well , being quite happy about the whole thing , my euphoria was abruptly frustrated by loud , vibrating noise coming from the XBOX. I thought it might have to do with the wooden TV-table( which was vibrating aswell with the device laying on it) on which
it was located , though the noise was still there after trying several other places. I got quite confused when I realised that in addition there was quite some heat emerging from the ventilation grids.

Before buying myself an XBOX 360, I read many reviews and articles on the web and always read that the XBOX 360E is very quiet compared to the older models...another point that left me quite frustrated as mine was absolutely the opposite of this.

At the moment I am quite sad that I got such a loud copy of it and I am wondering if this is a common problem with some of the machines? I am pretty sure that this can't be normal with a brand new device and just wanted to back myself up with you pro's commenting
here.

I will surely go to the store and have it replaced by an other device as it's really louder than my 4-year old standard desktop PC.

Planning on getting a new Xbox.

i have had my Xbox 360 S since the year it came out in 2010. and i am getting brand new games but when i read them on my xbox 360 it makes some very strange noises. one of the noises is the noise when you enter radiation on fallout 3 or new vegas. and also
when i turn my xbox console off it takes 15mins to turn off fully. also when i go into my apps such as youtube or facebook the disc tray makes some strange noises and that when a disc is in the drive. it shouldnt be making that noise when discs are in. the
noise stops when a disc is not in.

so i am currently planning on getting a brand new xbox console prefer a gears of war console. now my main questions is....is there anyway to transfer data from one Xbox S to another Xbox S. or could i use my current hard drive an transfer it to the upcoming
new console?

this is currently my second xbox and i am aware of content licence which i can transfer when i go on my new console.

noisy internal hard drive#

hiya,just bought a brand new 250gb slim 360 and the internal hard drive make quite a loud clicking noise when its reading/writing,? is this normal or could it be faulty?thanks in advance...bobbytinn

You are correct, the Xbox 360 S and Xbox 360 E are described as being 'whisper quiet'. If your console is really that loud, you might want to go get an exchange at your store just to be on the safe side. It could be an underlining problem that will make
itself more apparent through use of the device so you might be saving yourself a headache in the long run.

Obsessive Power

What kind of noise does it make? Is it buzzing or grinding noise? The noise is coming from the little internal fan and it's been know that some faulty units make this noise.

The power brick on my Xbox 360 Slim used to make a loud grinding noise when I had it from new. To stop the noise I used to pick up the brick and give it a few hard taps with the palm of my hand. Once I did that it didn't make any noise for the duration of
that play session until then next time the machine was switched on again.

Strangely enough, I never had the brick replaced and it now it no longer makes any noise. If you are concerned though and you can't get the brick be quite you should take up a repair request with Microsoft Support to get it replaced.

Picked up men yesterday from Lefdal ?Bergen. Spent 4 hours downloading BF4 with this noise of angry locus the whole time. I thought it was the HD, today I'm watch ?Netflix and the darn thing is still noisy as hell. I can hear it out of the room over 6m away!

Why wasnt this problem reported earlier? We had to wait forever git the console release only yo get this noisy machine! Luckily Lefdal accept returns for refund. If this is the new Xbox experience I'm off the PS4! I wanted to keep my gold membership active
here and enjoy transferring my game stats only to be met by an annoying quality console

I have the same problem here. Got my Xbone on saturday. The scandinavian version with no Kinect and bundled with Forza5 and Fifa15.

Crackling noize in stand-by and dashboard.

I have played some Forza5, aka trying to reproduce the solution from SimonM7 but I have noticed any changes.

I will swap mine trough my retailer (Elkjøp in Norway) but I will try and get them to hook it up in the store and test the new one(s) before I accept the exchange
