    brand new xbox 1-s forza -- Fan is way loud and stays on when powered down


    We have had it for about 6 days. The fan has been spinning up and has not really turned itself off. It also stays on when the machine is powered down.

    Tried to watch a movie last night and it was almost louder than the movie. I checked and it's totally updated -- nothing pending.

    Not sure if it's bunk or something I'm not doing right.

    Played my machine for all of two hours total and this morning after about 10 min of play the fan kicks in really loudly and stays on. Even with the machine powered down it just runs and runs. Even after unplugging it for a while, as soon as its plugged
    in it kicks back on.

    The sound is like a fan that's working hard. It doesn't have the additional clicking sound some users have complained about. But, it is really loud. Like the box fan I use for white noise while sleeping or a loud window unit air conditioner.

    Fan is really loud and stays on

    The power supply doesn't feel all that warm and neither does the brick. It was a power strip, so I can give that a go.

    If you've only had it for 6 days, I'd take it back and exchange it for another one. The fan shouldn't be that loud.

    Xbox One X Fan sounds way louder than usual

    Ok I moved it and it has not shut off sense but the Xbox One X Fan noise is not constant and is still loud maybe not as loud as a jet engine like I describe before but still loud way louder than my Xbox One S and OG Xbox One, it would have a fan burst
    when I'm playing which is loud and annoying and the fan noise would never be at a constant noise level while I'm playing a game.

    Hi, Power stays on on both USB ports.

    The external drive runs silently so hard to tell if it is on or off but the fan stays on constantly when Xbox is powered down.
