    Brand new controller causes headphone stuttering and shocks.


    Has anyone experienced what I said in the title? Brand new out of the box controller I plug my turtle beach $150 head set that works with my other two controllers in and it stutters and makes weird interference noises.

    Recently I have even received a few shocks from it on the right hand side.

    I do tend to keep my main controller which is now this one plugged in. But even when it is not plugged in it does the exact same thing.

    Since update, slow cold starts?

    I have noticed considerable slowdown from boot time to some games stuttering and the new controller updates seam to cause more and more audio glitches and controller lag than before.

    setup headset

    Are you using a Microsoft brand controller or third party controller. My headphones will not work with my Afterglow controller but will work with my Microsoft controller.

    Headphones stuttering/popping/crackling noise.

    This issue is not related to any physical problem. The controler is brand new and the headphones do not have any fraying and work perfectly fine with other headphone jack electronics. Using other headphones has the same problem. Using another controler
    also has the same problem. This is a software issue or is being caused by some kind of interferance. Searching online shows thta others have had this issue and had limited success by clearing their alternative MAC address or constantly restarting their console,
    neither of these have solved the issue in my case however.

    No game sound on headset.

    Headphones are brand new and plug into the controller. I reset the console and nothing changed. I game volume us turned up. I checked their website with no help.

    While I can't say with 100% certainty that you'll be sent a brand new controller I'm fairly sure they will. The issue with the controller itself could just be that the port for the headphone jack has been damaged in some way which happens. If you have wireless
    headphones try using the Xbox companion app for partychat in the meantime.
