Box issued Xbox One mic is making a 'knocking' noise.. How do I fix?

Hey guys, so i've had my Xbox One for about a month and as of last night it started making a weird noise apparently. I couldn't hear this noise so i thought it was my friend winding me up.

So a few hours later when I came back online I joined party with someone else and they complained about the noise. I facetimed them so i could hear what noise this was because I was just sitting there doing nothing different to what i normally do so this
seemed pretty weird as to how its just randomly started doing this noise.

Anyway, i heard the noise and it seems to be like a knocking kind of noise and also like the sound of somebody rustling around with their mic.
Why has this started happening? I thought it may be down to the plug and play kit i was using on my controller so in a bid to fix the problem i switched back to batteries but no, no avail. I also
tried to update my controller but again, no avail. It still made this stupid banging noise.

I've searched forums and even tried youtube but I just cant find anyone else with this problem.

If it's my mic thats broke can anybody recommend any other mics which will not break so easily?

Also, i havent done anything stupid with this mic like chuck it around or get it water damaged so it all seems a little odd.

Any help would be great

People in my parties say my XBox One mic is making "static" noises

Randomly people started saying my standard mic on XBox One is making weird cracking noises and its really annoying for them, does anyone have a fix?

Help Me

When I'm on my computer and go to the xbox app and join a party it shows that I'm making noise which I'm not . My friends keep telling me that it's a load noise. I don't have a mic connected to my computer so I'm guessing that it's the prosseser making all
the noise and the built in mic is picking up the sound? help me

If it's only a month old i'd first try taking it back to the shop you bought it from if possible.

Not had any issues myself & can't say i've heard of this before.

I am using a very old version of the game, and an old console - chances are if something is making a lot of noise in these consoles 1 of 3 things is probably happening 1) the fan broke and needs to be replaced by an official x-box repair (or if in warentee
get another) or 2) The Drive is knocked off track to make the noise, or 3) there is heavy grooves on the CD causing it to skip (probably wouldn't play at all in this case). Even on older PATA - sata drives (similar to what this is) if they get knocked around
too much they make a lot of noise

I have a similar problem, except when I plug in my mic or anything that can go into the small port, it doesn't make any noise at ALL. It even says that I don't actually have a mic plugged in. And to make sure my mic worked fine, I plugged it into my computer
and it worked perfectly fine. I have no idea what's causing the problem, but it seems that Microsoft doesn't know how to fix this since none's replied back to me. Oh and as an extra thing, I plugged in a different mic which worked for less than 2 minutes before
even that just didn't make any noise anymore.

Does it make any noise when you press the power button? Does your power box show any light? My xbox just did this and i just plugged it into another outlet and it fixed my issue

You can get it repaired. But I know one time, the beeping noise the power button makes stopped for me once because I knocked my xbox over by accident. I unplugged the whole thing then plugged it back in and the beeping noise came back. Strange but it worked
and I never understood it.
