Bought things with this debit card on this Xbox now it says it won't authorize

i have the same problem cant add my debit card! i removed it then tried to re-add it and now it says it cant authorize it!

When you purchase a subscription it's set to automatically renew and the charge is run as a recurring or pre-authorized charge. Rarely credit cards, some debit cards and MOST prepaid debit cards will not allow pre-authorized charges. You can contact your
bank and ask them to allow pre-authorized charges on that card, if they say no you will have to use a different card.

Quick thing about credit cards and debit cards...

Microsoft most likely placed an authorization of the new Xbox onto your card. That means they asked your bank to hold the funds aside so you don't spend it. On a true credit card, it will show up on your statement as a pending charge. On a debit card,
it shows up as a charge. Even though your debit card has a VISA or MasterCard logo on it, it doesn't run as a credit card. Since your debit card is directly linked to your checking account, the authorization holds the actual money, whereas on a credit card,
they hold credits.

As for waiting 7 weeks, that is ridiculous, so sorry it's happening to you...

I suggest using the debit card to buy a xbox live gold subscription prepaid card at a local store

If it's a debit card, the associated address should be the address your bank has on file. It might be that the card is not authorized for online/reoccurring charges.

Another thing to consider is that when adding a card, Microsoft sends a 0$ authorization to your bank. They might be reading the 0 as an undetermined charge. Some banks will automatically reject that since they can't confirm the amount is in your account.
