    Bought Minecraft on Xbox but says I need to buy Windows 10?


    I bought Minecraft on the Xbox and since I have Microsoft connected to my computer (it's s surface pro) and the Xbox app, it said I could download and play it. However, when I go to sign in, it says I have to buy Minecraft. Anyone know how to help?

    No. Windows 10 is the PC version.

    Minecraft is not a Play Anywhere title. You would have to purchase the PC version in order to play it on the PC.

    I bought the Windows 10 version of Minecraft by mistake, but the one I wanted was the java edition.

    I saw that anyone who buys minecraft java edition is entitled to minecraft Windows 10. Is the reverse also true? Who buys minecraft windows 10 is entitled to minecraft java edition?

    If so, how do I access the java edition version at no additional cost?

    Also please make sure you bought the right version. There are three Minecraft games in Microsoft Store.

    They are -

    Minecraft(If you want to play it on Xbox One, you should buy this version)

    Minecraft for Windows 10

    Minecraft for Windows 10 Mobile.

    Minecraft and Minecraft for Windows 10 share the same pic in Microsoft Store.
