Bought Gold but cant play online!

I've just bought a 3 months Xbox live Gold code and activated it. On my account it says that i have xbox live but when i'm trying to play online i get a message to buy xbox live.

Bought Gold but cant play online!

I've just bought a months Gold membership on the Xbox website and my account shows this now on the Xbox website. On the dashboard it says xbox live free so wont let me play online but if I go to the "Your Memberships " its has me as a Gold member!?

Any ideas anyone please! Just wanna get on Black ops tonight!

i have been seeing alot of these questions in the helpee program, this was never thought of "doing a network check"

i'll pass this along to the program forums as a fix on this issue.
