bought gamepass ultimate but i can't play online

So i bought xbox gamepass ultimate and i tried to message a friend shortly after but it came up with an "something went wrong" and i tried to go into party chat and it came up with the same "something went wrong" i tried to play gta an online game and it said there was something wrong with my connection or something i checked and it said nothing was wrong i checked my subscriptions and it said i had ultimate BUT my xbox live gold was cancelled and when i clicked on it, it said it was upgraded and i checked the internet and it said gamepass ultimate comes with gold. though i can't do anything but play offline i would appreciate help.

Try a hard reset (hold down the power button on the console until it turns off, unplug the console, plug it back in, then turn it back on).

Also I need to mention that I still have the benefits for gold, and can play online. i also bought the gamepass that was on sale for a dollar, is it a regular gamepass or a ultimate?

If "The Neighbourhood" is a online multiplayer mode, you need to have an active Gamepass Core or Gamepass Ultimate subscription to play online. It does not matter where you bought the game from, all paid games on Xbox require a Gamepass subscription to play online. Free to play games do not require a subscription to play online.
