Bought game on Live. Can I use friends disc to install?

If i understand, I have bought GTA V Premium and I have slow internet and my friend borrow me physical disc, I install it and then remove disc and install only updates, no full game and I can play without disc?

find a friend who bought disc... install using disc.. give disc back... buy the digital version....win

Have you tried obtaining a friend's copy and install their game onto your console?

Because once I bought a used copy of BF4 and the campaign disc happened to be slightly scratched up. I've tried everything from rubbing deodorant all over the disc to splattering toothpaste on it. In the end, I borrowed a friend's copy and installed the
disc. After that, my copy worked perfectly.

As already mentioned, when you buy a disc game, you still need to keep the disc inserted to play. However, there are some exceptions to this. For example, if you have the disc version, but your friend has the digital version - and your friend is using their
account on your console - they won't need to insert the game disc, because they own the digital rights.

Also, if for example your friend installs their game disc on your console, and then you decide you want that game too and go the digital route, all you need to do is pay for it via Xbox LIVE. The installed game will unlock and you can play that game on your
account without the disc. This could be very useful if your Internet connection is slow as you won't need to download the game from Xbox Live if the game is already installed from the disc.

just borrow the game off your friend and install it on your hard drive,then you can play it using your disc. It worked for me when i scratched a disc , it wouldn't load past the start screen, i installed it off a friends disc then i could play again as it
only reads the disc to check you have the correct disc in the drive
