Bought Dragon Age Origins at the Marketplace but when I opened it was in french

I am not pleased with the hard way to get in touch with Microsoft / Xbox 360 support.

There is no way to e-mail my request what so ever as the chat doesnt work and I'm not going to TWEET it really!!!!

So here is my problem

I live in Belgium, my xbox 360 is set on English and today I bought Dragon Age Origins. The description of the game was in English and there was no mention of French anywhere.

I buy it, I download it and what do I get a French version without the opportunity to change it to english

I try to find a way to contact Xbox but I ended up with having this as the only option.

I want it changed in the English version or get a refund OR get a new ENGLISH version of the game.

All I ask.

Please Microsoft/ Xbox/ contact me and fix this.

Actually I am not the only BELGIAN who gets this problem of getting FRENCH content when only half of our country is FRENCH. I am native in Dutch not French and I want ENGLISH content. Make sure when an XBox in Belgium is set on English we actually get English
content when we download.

Importing Save game from Dragon Age Origins to Dragon Age 2?

Recently, i bought Dragon Age 2 and when i go into import option

It said i have 2 files

Save File 1: Dragon Age: Origins

Save File 2: Dragon Age: Awakening <---Imported from Save File 1: DA: Origins!

Soooo what do i choose?

I want to have ALL my decisions from Origins And Awakening!

Dragon Age: Origins - language

Hi,

I've got the same problem. I'm in Switzerland too, and my XBox is all in French. I've bought Dragon Age: Origins and Borderlands 2 on the XBoxLive, but just Borderlands is in French and DAO is in German. It's really annoying, because German is awful :'(
And I have the same thing with Fable III ...

 

Finally after all the trouble finding a way to contact the service, the chat finally works

It seems it is not possible to have this game in ENglish in Belgium, I hope they change the description of the game in the marketplace then as it says nothing about French.

I got lucky to get a refund.

Sorry to hear it. The official languages of Belgium are Dutch, French and German. Games will usually default to the official languages of the region then are purchased from.

 

Thing is I live in he flemish part. Plus xbox supportchat told me Belgium is completely set French as default. I think it is outrageous a complete country where only half of it speaks french is put in French default. They should give us the content in the
language we check in our preferences instead of their own defaultsystem.

They lost a customer today, I wont be getting thz xbox one as upgrade. Now I understand why so many go for the playstation console.

If microsoft sees this make sure your know your customers language and stop the default system it is ridiculous

 

It's not the choice of Microsoft or the developer of the game. As the official languages of the country are listed as I posted above it is per governmental restrictions that you only have a limited number of languages for the game you want.

I'm pretty sure you'll find the same issues on Playstation as you do here.

 

When you use the Web marketplace it goes by the locale of the website

However this is why you must change the locale at the bottom to see the descriptions of the product in your region

Without changing the locale you will only get the American listing which games do not go by once your click purchase if will redirect you to your location marketplace that's why you don't see the descriptiln

This is why you must always change the locale if your use them Web marketplace

If you use them console it goes by your account region

 

And yes as onyx stated it goes by the region of your account very few games support in game language change

Region of accounts affect the content in each region

 

Regardless of consoles

That's like expecting English content I. France or Russia or even Japan it doesn't make business sense

Content is demographic too the region it is published in

Otherwise you will have mistaken purchases

In every country you should expect content based on the majority not a small minority

Games that do well in the US won't do well in Japan like cod or halo hence why the content differences

Imagine a player buying cod in Japan and then he can't understand the game because it's in english

They love jrpgs more then shooters FYI

This is why demographics and region play a factor In content publishers and most of your country men know this

They wouldn't want a game that isn't geared toward them or in the completely wrong language
