Bought Dishonoured and code won't work

I bought a pre-owned game from game.co.uk. The Dishonoured game stated it was a special with the Arcane Assassin pack. It gave no indication that arcane pack wouldn't work as it sold the game suggesting it would work. I received it yesterday and it plays
fine, but this morning tried to redeem the code from the card and it didn't work. So I guess they should have said it wouldn't work and that all I am buying is Dishonoured. What is the protocols for these things? Are they suppose to not sell it stating
it was an Arcane pack? Because I paid a little more than the other Dishonoured games for it. Actually as I am writing it is against the trades description to sell something that isn't true. Not totally sure of my rights here but before I go any further

Redeem code won't work

bought new Xbox today and the redeem code won't work

 

Dishonoured 2 Pre-order

Hi, purchased Dishonoured 2 when e3 was on, part of the pre-order was to get Dishonoured the definitive edition free. the codes will be sent to you in 10 days etc.

More than 10 days have passed and no codes/game

Also pre-ordered re-core at the same time, got the free game codes that came with that, but not Dishonoured, not available in the 'ready to download' section either. I have 2 Xbox one consoles, both on the same profile and neither have the codes and/or game.

Any help would be appreciated.

Usually if I buy a used game I'll assume any codes with it are spent. However, if the code was still in the package when you got it, then that suggests they intended to mislead you, or they got the game that way and were too stupid to think it might not
be redeemable. If it says in their advert that it had that pack included and not redeemed, that's pretty obvious fraud. Even if it was only implied, thy HAD to know that listing it that way would up its value and bring more potential buyers. Check the listing
and copy what it says to any e-mail complaint you send.

 

Well no you have to remember that the package doesn't change when resold

The store can't chheck of the code has been used without entering

with used products you rarely get unused codes

that's the downside of used games you should never expect full benefits from a used game

 

Well most likely they got the game from the person who sold it to them that way I never take out my codes after use unless I'm extremely bored

There is no way to check if the code unused unless it's a scratch off code which most aren't nowadays

as the only way to check is to enter the code and use it

 

Thanks for your advice and thoughts. I shall just stick to those without the extras from now on
