Bought and installed a game off microsoft store, wont let me launch it

Hello, im having this weird problem.

At first I thought the reason for this was that some xbox live services was limited tonight, and thought it'll work after they'll make every aspect of xbox live run again. Too bad that got fixed 1 hour ago, and im still having the same problem, so.

Im using Xbox One S, I bought the original Call of Duty: Black Ops off the microsoft store, downloaded and installed it as normally, and after trying to launch it, it just gives me error: 0x803F8001

It takes me back to the store, suggesting that I have to verify that I have bought the game. Well, I go to the store, it says the game is installed, I launch the game from store, and it gives me same exact error again.

So the problem here should be that for whatever reason, my purchase hasnt been verified, and thats why it wont let me launch the game. And I expect that theres nothing I can do about it, so I decided to come ask help here.

Bought on the XB1 store, wont launch. Gives me an error and says it is unplayable.

 

Can't install game I bought off store

"I have bought a game off of Xbox store a while ago. I played it but haven't played it for a while now. Tried playing it last few days but says need to install but won't let me. Tried deleting it off Xbox completely, cleared cache etc and reset Xbox ( turn
off , in plug etc) still Wont let me reinstall it." any advice? It was bought by me in my user name etc.

 

Well unfortunately on the status page there is a specific notice for the game COD: Black Ops II, maybe the original one has the same issue.

Anyway I would try power cycling your console.

Restart or Power Cycle Xbox One Console

 

I tried that before I came here, no effect.

I saw that notification about Black Ops II. It would make sense if COD: Black Ops had the same problem.

Thanks for your post. The here's some information about the error posted:

Error 0x803F8001 occurs when you launch a game Also, currently there has been known issues similar to this with Black Ops II, since you are attempting to play Black Ops I there shouldn't be an association but it is a possibility. To make sure the purchase
cleared on your account be sure to check your
Order History, to view the purchase and make sure it's completed.

It also may benefit to remove and re-add the profile to the console using these steps:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select System > Settings > Account
   > Remove accounts.
3. Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm
4. Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
   
5. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.
6. Plug the console power cable back in.
7. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox One.
   
8. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
9. Select your gamerpic in the upper-left corner of the screen, move all the way down and select
   Add new.
10. Enter the email address for the Microsoft account that you want to add, and then select
    Enter.
11. Enter the password for your Microsoft account that you want to add, and then select
    Enter.
12. Read the Microsoft Service Agreement and Privacy Statement, and then select
    I Accept.
13. Follow the steps to configure your Sign-In & Security preferences to add your Microsoft account to your Xbox One console.

I checked my order history, and it is completed.

I also just re-added my profile step-by-step, and it didnt have any effect either.

It still throws me that same error when I try to launch the game, and takes me to the microsoft store. After that I try to launch the game from the store page, and it gives me that same error again, and returns me to the store.

Could it be the same problem whats with Black Ops II? Anyways, thanks for your quick answer.

If you continue to have these issues after all the steps suggested I would suggest you contact Xbox Support to discuss with an agent.

 

I slept overnight, and today morning when I turned my xbox on, I got message that the game "is now ready to play", which you normally get right after the install. And the game launches now.

Weird. Seems like the problem solved itself.
