Bought an X Box One today, can't get past the initial system update?

So as the title says, I can't get past the initial system update of my new Xbox One... Reading the forums I see that X Box Live is down, but does that also mean that I can't download the initial update?



I hope the answer is yes, because that'll mean that I won't have to go back with my purchase and ask for another one. Hope somebody can help me out on this one! Thanks in advance.

New X-Box one wont update.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one! I bought a brand new Xbox One today but I can't get past the initial system update. Is it possible that this has something to do with Xbox Live being down? I hope so because I would hate to go through all the hassle of
bringing this back to the shop that I purchased it from.

I just bought the *** game for $10.00 since I can't get past the start screen with the MC collection. I am taking it back to the store today along with Far Cry 4 which also does not work now, but it did when I first bought it. I am having quite a few annoying
problems with the One I might just trade the *** thing in and wait a year until they get all the bugs worked out. Horrible experience and I love X-Box.

 

Herr Frohlings, the answer is likely yes, though to be entirely sure it may be wise to wait for this issue to subside and then try again. The good news is that users are slowly starting to get back online so it looks like the problem may be on its way to
being fixed.

In the mean time, can you try a hard reboot and try the update again.

1: When your Xbox is turned on. Hold the power button for 7 - 10 seconds.

2: Turn the Xbox back on.

3: Try the update.

If this doesn't work, please post back any error codes or messages.
