Bought a Used Xbox at a Garage Sale.

I'm an upstanding xbox live customer, I normally play on xbox one because my old xbox just died.

We picked up a 360 from a garage sale, and it had some disc reading issues and cleaning to take care of so I fixed it up and cleaned it.

I plug it into the internet and low and behold it's a bloody banned system.

Something about Terms of Use.

Since I am not the customer that got the ban, I would like to request that the console be unbanned, as the old accounts will never be on it again since I wiped the drive.




It was a lot of work for "nothing"




I really wanted to spoil my wife with being able to play Crackdown and some other games, but she's gonna be really disappointed about this. We were planning a date weekend and it's kinda shot now.




I even spent the money on cords and a controller

About 4 weeks ago, and garage sales around here don't take returns.

The ban screen reads as such

"This console has been banned for violations of the Terms of USe. To protect Xbox LIVE service and its members, Microsoft does not provide details about specific console bans."

As I mentioned I've been a LONG time customer with no bans or even marks on my accounts records.

Thank you for your help, Microsoft has never let me down, I hope that trend continues.

Microsoft Xbox Controller S??? Works with what system?

Hello I recently bought a Xbox Controller S at a garage sale. Thought it might work on my xbox360. But doesn't seem too ;-( Will it work on Xboxone or any other system? Please help Thanks ;-)

It is wired just in case you need to know ;-)

 

Why is Xbox charging taxes

They are just late to the game I guess. Everything sold in Canada has to have a tax put on it, even your local garage sale. Yes used goods as well.

 

Note: I don't live far from there, it's a couple blocks away.

Also, my account has not been on this console as of yet.

 

Sorry, but console bans are not reversed and there is no way to contact the enforcement team regarding console bans. When you purchase a used console you assume the risk for any previous modifications or unauthorized activity. The only thing you can do is
try to work with the people you bought it from for a refund.

 

Unfortunately that's not an option. I'm stuck here. The agent I spoke to specifically said I'd be able to contact the enforcement team this way since I bought it second hand.

 

Unfortunately phone and chat support are known for sending people here with incorrect information when it comes to anything they don't directly handle. The enforcement team does not use the forums.

 

I can't say I'm not disappointed.
