Bought a month of gold. Am still a Silver member.

I purchased an Xbox Live Gold - 1 Month Membership today, and I'm being told my account is still a Silver account. The Xbox Website says I am a Gold Member, but my Xbox keeps saying I'm not. Any help available?

If you purchased it on the website, there is a delay before the console will recognize it. The delay can last for hours. To speed up the process, try testing your connection.

they could just let it be free for gold members and a $10 charge for silver members(maybe once a month for gold members)

Huh? You can either redeem a code, use paypal or credit card. There is nothing to download. It should instantly give you XBOX LIVE Gold. I paid via paypal a few days ago and I was all set connected to XBOX LIVE instantly. I was prompted any download option
or shipment.
