Bought a game on the wrong account, how to transfer it?

Hi everyone,

I have two Microsoft accounts. By mistake, I bought a game for the wrong account (online of course). Is there a way to transfer the game to the other account? I have not installed the game yet. Thanks in advance for any help.

I bought a game online on my account but want to transfer it to my son's xbox account. How can I do it. I paid for his subscription to play online so can I transfer this game to his account? If not I will refund it.

 

You would need to refund it and then purchase it on the correct account. You can find instructions on refunds here.

Alternatively, if you have the console set as the Home console for the account the game was purchased on, you can share the game with your other profile that way.

 

Hi, it's not possible to transfer it. You could contact Microsoft and ask for a refund, then purchase it on the correct account or you could install the game, then with the account that purchased the game, make the xbox the home console. That will let
the account you wanted the game for, be able to play it.

I recomend you to ask for a refund and later buy the game in the correct account:

To request a self-service refund:

1. Navigate to account.microsoft.com and sign-in.
2. From the top menu bar, select Payment & billing > Order history.
3. Navigate to a purchased game or app, and select Request a refund.

Thanks for the quick answers! The Refund link seems to be dead for the german page. I will try to get a refund through the support anyway.

du solltest dich innerhalb der ersten drei Tage nach dem Kauf beim Telefon Support melden. Der PC mit dem Email Account sollte hochgefahren sein (zwecks Kontroll Email). Beachte aber, das eine Erstattung nur ein Mal pro Kalenderjahr möglich ist !

Kleiner Tipp: Ruf möglichst morgens an, dann kommst du besser durch !
