    Both xbox one controllers turning off when I turn xbox on.


    Hi, my sons controllers, even though batteries are completely full turn off after seconds. He was using rechargeable battery packs. So I bought regular batteries and still does it. I also had him plug the controller into the console and nothing. Is this the console? We tried a hard reset and it didn't help. I'd hate to have to buy a new one because we have no warranty. Any help fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

    If your TV is on when you turn on the XBOX One (Same thing with your receiver if XBOX is controlling it) then it will turn them both off IF you have the option checked that allows the XBOX one to control either. Threw me for a loop also when I turned the
    XBOX ONE on when I had both the tv and receiver on. I run my cable into the TV not through the XBOX as I far prefer the Comcast remote menus rather than the XBOX one.

    so say no controller is on the dock, and i hold the xbox button on the controller, select turn off console....will that power the console back on, or will the controller turn off? When i am having this problem, the console and the controller both turn off,
    and then only the console logo lights back up, not the controller, if that helps clear up my issue, thanks 24hrs2live.

    This is happening to me as well. Already exchanged my Xbox One X with another one (also Project Scorpio Edition). Both exhibit same behavior. Controller turns on the console then desyncs. I have to turn it off and on again for it to resync.

    This only happens when console is completely off.

    Yes, the light on the xbox one controller turns off completely. I have to keep pressing the button to turn it back on then it turns off shortly after again.

    Also to add, My main xbox controller says full when I checked the batteries on it, when I removed the same batteries and put them into the new controller it says Medium.

    I need a way to successfully unsync my Xbox controller from my console, so I can again use it on my laptop via bluetooth.

    For now, why not just turn off the Xbox at the wall, then sync your controller to your PC, then turn the Xbox back on at the wall. That way you wont turn the Xbox One on when syncing the controller to the PC.
