Both of our Xbox One shutsdown after a few seconds when I start it

Hi,

Today I had to install the latest system update one my Xbox One. Ever since, it won't startup in about 99% of the times.

What happens is that I start it and then after a few seconds, without showing anything on screen, it shutsdown.

I do hear the startup beeps and then the shutdown beeps.

I know it's not the power supply, because that works fine on our other Xbox One. Where as the power supply of that Xbox One connected to the one giving me problems has the same results.

I recycled the power supply several times, one time, after about one hour everything disconnected, the Xbox One would start again. But after I turned it off, it stayed on (well, the power light was breathing for over 30 minutes, and then the light would
stay on. But nothing happened.

This is a console I received after my old Xbox One died last summer, I've got it now for almost 6 months, but apparently the warranty is over.

One of the Xbox's is doing this very consistently, it's hard to turn it on, almost impossible. This is the one I just talked about.

But our other Xbox One is doing this in about 40% of the time. But after I turn it on again, it stays on.

All this happened after the latest updates were run on my Xbox's

I'm pretty sure it was a software problem.

I left the X1 off for a couple of days. Unplugged from the power supply and the power supply unplugged from the outlet.

Day before yesterday I had to boot it up since the kids wanted to use the other X1. Plugged all the power back in, started the console and had the same problem. Unplugging again, plugging it in again and now it would startup. Still I don't know what happened,
and I don't know why it would start now. But as soon as it booted up, I got the message that I needed to install an update. Which I did, couldn't get worse, could it.

Couple of scary minutes as the X1 rebooted, but although it took forever, thankfully I had my Kindle handy and read the latest Halo novel while waiting, it started up fine and it has ever since.

Granted, I didn't use it often, but today I used it on and off over during the day and it would startup and shutdown without a problem.

If you have followed all the steps listed in the troubleshooting xbox one unexpected shut off, then I would reach out to customer support and and request a repair https://support.microsoft.com/devices

Yeah, I tried that, several times.

My most problematic Xbox seems to startup when I keep the power supply disconnected for a very long time, i.e. 3 hours. After which the Xbox is very likely to start.

My other Xbox starts up and shuts down, when I then start it again, it starts normally. But that is then a cold start, so the green Xbox startup screen comes up.

Both are updated and ever since I get this problem.

Hm, this is a weird issue. Try contacting the retailer in which you bought your console from and see if they can do anything to help. If they can't try finding a trusted 3rd party console repair shop near you to send in the console to do repairs. hope this
