    My Xbox One S would turn on and off my Bose system with no problem. I upgraded to an Xbox One X and now it will turn it off my Bose system (same sound system) but not turn it on, why is that?

    Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I understand there is an issue with the Xbox One S console controlling the Bose system.
    If you’re having trouble controlling your home theater from Xbox One,
    and all other troubleshooting has failed, you can use an IR extension cable to control your home theater. Take a look at the following article
    for more information: Using IR extension cables with Xbox One.

    Give this a try and let us know the results.

    Still no surround sound fix

    Ok, I just spoke to MS support rep... I'm using XBO with Bose Lifestyle v35. We were able to solve the issue by turning the XBO off for 10 seconds, then unplugged all the cables from bose, and xbo. Waited 1 minute, and plugged all the cables back in. Booted
    up XBO and surround sound is working again. Hope this helps.

    How set Xbox One to a Bose 321 System

    After taking a look at the inputs available on the system I would say the best thing to do would be to just get an Digital optical cable to connect the Xbox to the Bose system for surround sound and then run the HDMI out from the Xbox to your TV. In terms
    of hooking up your DirecTV all you need is a Component to HDMI cable.

    Unfortunately the Bose system doesn't offer you any HiDef inputs so you won't be able to route the video coming from your Xbox one through your Bose system.
