    QC35 and other Bose Headsets

I've read a number of posts on the topic, and I understand all of the following:

    1. Microsoft uses the same headphone jack standard as Android and other phones, not the Apple standard.
    2. The Xbox One does not support Bluetooth functionality on any wireless headsets.
    3. The built-in microphones will not work on Bluetooth headsets, so a cable with inline mic must be used.

That being said, I have the Xbox One with the controllers that have built-in headset jack, so not using the stereo headset adapter, but still some good info here. Connecting Compatible Headsets | Xbox One

    • I can plug in regular headphones (earbuds) and hear sound: ok.
    • I can plug in headphones such as the Bose OE SoundLink using an Android cable with inline mic and they work fine, and inline mic works.
    • If I use the same cable, but Bose QC35 headphones, no audio plays.
      • However, if I plug in the OE Soundlinks first, then switch to QC35, they work.

I've tried both a generic cable, as well as the Bose 2.5 to 3.5 android cable with inline mic. Both work with OE SoundLink, but neither works with QC35 (unless I plug my OE Soundlinks in first).

Why and how is Microsoft detecting and disabling certain headphone models?

Simple question on Xbox One headset adapter

    Hi all,

I think there is some confusion on how the new headset adapter for Xbox One works, and in fact it is not totally clear to me.

I have a simple question: I have a Bose QuietComfort 15 headphones, which come with a standard 3.5 mm stereo jack. If I plug this into the Xbox One headset adapter, will I be able to hear the game sound? And the multiplayer chat?

The Bose headset also comes with an additional cable with a microphone and 3.5 mm stereo+mic jack. Again, if I plug this into the Xbox One headset adapter, will I be able to hear the game sound? And the multiplayer chat? And will I be able to use the mic
    to chat as well?

    Cheers

Bose SoundTrue Headset Mic not working??

    Hey there!

    Thanks for the support message.

Are you running into any issues with other headsets? If you have another headset, please try to give it a go to see if you can talk. Another question, is can people not hear you, but you can hear them?

If other headsets are working, I recommend checking with Bose to see if they use CTIA or OMTP for their connection. If the chat headset uses OMTP that headset is not compatible with Xbox One.

    Cheers!

Yes I did some r&d & the bose headset uses OMTP, so my only option is to change the cable for a 3rd party one that will support CTIA. Thanks for the help.

  6. You can buy an OMTP to CTIA adapter for a few dollars. I saw one on dx.com (deal extreme)

From what I'm reading, the Bose QC35 is just a headset, no mic. Please definitely correct me if I'm wrong.
