Borderlands Xbox One system link to 360

Ok so I have a ? Here goes, I have 2 copies of the original borderlands on disk I would system link my 360 and my son's all the time we'll my son's 360 is no longer reading disks and borderlands is backwards compatible with the one so we try system link
me on the Xbox one him on my 360 when I create a match it shows my profile when my son tries to join and acts normal until the connection countdown gets to 5 secs then says game is no longer available it does the same when we try to create the match on the
360. So I guess my question is are you supposed to be able to system link the 2 consoles and it's just not working for me or is the system link function not part of the backwards compatibility and if system link is not supposed to work why would it even show
up and let you try

System Link for Borderlands

Hi,

My friend and I have just started playing Borderlands again and we want to play together using the system link.

I have the older (white) xbox 360 and he has the (black) newer one.

We conected them using an ethernet cable, but we could not get them to link.

Well we dont think we did, the screens ran amost exactly the same but when we both started to play we could not see the other player......so we dont think it worked.

Any ideas what we are doing wrong????

You mention that you are using an Ethernet cable but System Link requires a Crossover Ethernet cable. They are wired differently however it is very seldom that they are labeled so it can be difficult to tell the difference between a regular Ethernet cable
and a crossover.



Can you confirm that you are using a Crossover Ethernet cable?

If yes do you have the ability to try a different crossover Ethernet cable?

 

I have the sane question, but for saints row 4. Maybe someone will help us lol

 

System link between the 360 and Xbox One works extremely well.

Launch the game on both systems, but do not choose anything just yet. Now plug in your system link cable and off you go.

If you try to plug in the system link cable before launching the game, the X1 will not be in 360 mode and will launch into 'set up wired connection mode.' You don't want that.
