Borderlands Handsome BS fake games with gold?

So I'm reading that the free games with gold last month, borderlands handsome jack collection, was a weekend trial? it took me all weekend to download it! then I was told that my save game info could be transferred from the 360 to the One. I get on my 360,
system update required, console restarts, AND MY $120 XBOX HARD DRIVE IS BLANK! no profiles, no save game data, no borderlands game save available. fubar has prevented me from playing borderlands, not wanting to start all over upset me. hundreds of hours of
gameplay erased by your update. and now i find out the games with gold free game was a weekend trial. took a chunk of hard drive space to get your "deals with gold" BS edition special. so there's a game in the "my games" section that i dont have the rights
to play. free game for being gold member. i payed good money for borderlands 1 and 2. payed for gta5 TWICE! you finally have a decent game for free on the One and you take it away? how are you going to make good on this situation?

Just saw on Reddit that there seems to be an Unlock code for this that is currently Free.

Not sure exactly what it is or if it's a pricing error or not.
