Borderlands Confusion?

I know that this probably isn't the best place to post this but I got on the 2k website and I couldn't navigate that crap for nothing.

But anyways, here's what's up. I just bought the first Borderlands game for my Xbox 1 ans it is in an Xbox 1 case. It has a disc for the downloadable content but it won't download it.

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong so I can go and cause mindless mayhem?

You should only need to install the disc, seems this is a backward compatible game in which case all DLC would be available right through it.

Try uninstalling the game and installing everything just using the dlc disc.

The game then is the Xbox 360 version of the game, which is backward compatible. All the dlc is included in the main game, you do not need to install anything else. more info can be found here about that

I tried installing the bonus content first but it just popped up that message saying unable to something something something....

I already had the dlc to the zombie expansion pack but none of the others are there

Thanks for your update! Do you mind posting the exact error code/message you receive when attempting to use the DLC? Also, what happens when you try using the disc for DLC? You may want to try a

hard reset on your Xbox One and unplugging your router for 30 seconds, then plugging it back in. Backwards compatible games are downloaded from the internet even when you have a disc, so troubleshooting your network may help in resolving this issue.
