Borderlands apparently not backwards compatible?

I just got an Xbox one, set it all up, and popped in my 360 copy of Borderlands. Xbox.com/backcompat says Borderlands and Borderlands 2 are backwards compatible, but when I try to play it my console says it can’t be played and to check the list on backcompat.
What’s the issue here?

Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection (X1 18/11/16)

The original games (Assassin's Creed 2, Brotherhood and Revelations) are backward compatible - if you play those on the X1 now, will they be different (less enhanced) than playing the Ezio Collection?

Would seem a bit silly for them to work on two versions of the same thing.

Is Borderlands 2, on X1 via backward compatibility, any different (graphics) to Borderlands the Handsome Collection?

Backwards Compatibiliy questions

I know that Xbox One has Borderlands: Handsome Jack Collection, which contains Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. However, I currently own Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel on XBox 360. Borderlands 2 is backwards compatible, while
the Pre-Sequel is not. Is there a plan to make it Backwards Compatible? and what is the ETA? I don't think it is fair to make me purchase the Handsome Collection after purchasing these 2 games. Please let me know what Xbox is planning to do.

This title is indeed part of the backward compatible library. Make sure that you're inserting the first disc into your console to initiate the installation of the game. Let's also try powering the console down, unplug the console and router for five full
minutes to refresh your cache and connection, and try to access the content again. Thank you.

Is it only with Borderlands, or is it with other backwards compatible titles as well?

The backward compatible version of Borderlands includes the DLC with it, so there is no need to download it. As for the cloud storage, only game saves can be stored in the cloud. Some backward compatible games include DLC that you can download to the Xbox One, others like Borderlands include it in game.

Backwards Compatibility Library. Looks like the Borderlands GOTY is not on the list, but Borderlands standard edition is. If you have any issues with any other Backwards Compatibility games, I suggest to

SW Battlefront is a disc. Borderlands, Peggle, and Halo: MCC are digital (Borderlands is a disc, but because it's X360 backward compatible, it's a digital download with the disc as "proof of ownership").
