Borderlands 3 freezes and crashes

After roughly 5 minutes of gameplay:
LowLevelFatalError [File:Unknown][Line:200] Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. (Error: 0x887A0006 - 'HUNG')

I cannot play past the first enemy base in the introduction of the game. I have contacted 2K support, and none of their suggestions fixed the problem. They referred me to Microsoft Support.

PC specifications:
Graphics card: GTX 1660
Processor: Intel i3 8100
Operating system: Windows 11

Graphics card drivers are up to date. DX11 is being used. Game files have been verified via Epic Games Launcher. Windows 11 is up to date. System file checker has been run and repairs were made. Upon running it a second time, no errors are found.

Hello there!

I've scoured the net (reddit) and it seems to be a problem with the game itself. I've been playing Borderlands 3 on the Xbox One X as well and I get occasional crashes and shutdowns when too many things are going on. I use Moze and Grenadier Perk and when
those grenades start going off, that's when it happens. It seems like we'll have to wait for 2K for a fix.

Would you please tell me the troubleshooting steps 2k support asked you to do that did not work?

All the other games on your PC run just fine?

In addition to the deletion and re install of the game, i would also do a hard reset of the system. I have also heard rumblings of issues with the game, but the hard reset might help decrease the number of crashes and freezes at least a bit.
