Bordering on greatness?

I can't really comment on borderlands as I have never played them. I only ever hear good things about it though. Has anything been announced for a next gen Borderlands?

Definitely worth a shot if you enjoy Action FPS/RPG games, and with 4 player co-op support makes for a great time with friends.

 

Thank you Mafivee. I dont recall if I have ever played an FPS / RPG game before. I probably have but it's just lost in my head somewhere lol. My problem is that I don't really have too much access to the 360 anymore so I would have to hope that these come
out on the X1 at some point. I will give it a shot for sure though. Do I need both or do they have individual stories that dont cross over?

 

They are more of a Action FPS with a few RPG elements and you don't need both as they have their own story, but playing 1 before 2 would be ideal.

 

Thanks bro. I would hope that if they do come to X1 as classics, somewhere down the lines, that they would come as one package. You just been selected as my Borderlands dude if that ever happens!

 

No worries And a decent package that would be as I know Borderlands 1 GotY Edition comes with a ton of DLC for a good price.

 

Borderlands 2 is an amazing game for sure. It was one of the top best games in 2012. I put hundreds of hours into it. I still need to play through some of the dlc. The best 360 games IMO would be GTA5, SR2, Halo 3, or Halo 4.

 

Bordelrands 2 is a shining example of iterative game design and why sequels are da bomb.

 

To the people who say that Borderlands 2 is not the best game on Xbox360 due to it being a complete package, but not naming a better game, try naming a better game that is a complete package.

By better package I mean plenty of content on the disk, no online pass, with all the options gamers ask for, and much to do and collect in the game...

 

@ Wilko I already did. I guess for ease of confusion I will list GTA5 as the best game on the 360. Excellent campaign. Over 100 co-op missions online ranging from 2-8 player co-op, full open world sandbox game with the ability to buy houses, go parachuting,
racing, shooting, buy cars, buy bikes, buy boats, buy planes, buy helicopters, map maker, character customization, and much more. No online pass. The online dlc has all been free. .

 

Borderlands 2 was a fantastic game and I loved the original. It does come with a great amount of content on the disc but I feel that the game offers it's best experience via co-op so playing with friends is a must. Don't get me wrong, playing the game
on your own is okay but nowhere near as fun as co-op and as you said the game offers the complete package, I would expect the offline to be as fun as the online. It's a fantastic game nonetheless, but I wouldn't call it the best. To be honest, I don't even
feel that any one game deserves the title of 'the best' as there are so many different games that cater to different tastes, people can have their own 'personal best' but overall, there isn't any game that really owns that title.

Already mentioned "Bayonetta".

Better graphics, better gameplay, better graphics, better control, better sound, better story, more original... better everything really.

However "Borderlands 2" is still a great game and if you just want to go with what type of game you personally prefer then "Borderlands 2" could be the top game on the 360 for you.

Oh man, talk about blind fanboyism to the max. I wonder if i could contact Lead Writer Anthony Burch on how Bayonetta has better writing than the multitude of gags, quips, and characters he did for Borderlands 2.

 

I personally am a huge fan of JRPG and only really play games from that genre nowerdays, I dislike 2K Games very much, but even I have to admit that whilst Borderlands 2 is not the best game ever made by itself, if you take the whole package available
on the disk at launch in to account it is hard to find a better package available on Xbox360.

@Azrael, I think that Bayonetta was the better game by itself, but it was not the better package.

@Camaro, my post asking for people to name games was not aimed at you, it was aimed at the thread in general to encourage discussion.

 

@Wilko...with all dlc Mass Effect series,Dragon Age:Origins,Diablo 3 and The Witcher 2:Enhanced Edition are my top favorite 360 games to date with loads of content but Borderlands 2 is def high in the list and smashes any other FPS game...i can't even look
at other FPS games the same after playing Borderlands 1 or 2.
