    Boot up problem.

Hi everyone I need some help regarding a problem during my Xbox one's boot sequence that I noticed yesterday. I turned on the machine as normal and while it was starting up I ejected the disc inside which then caused the machine to turn itself off the power
light dimmed up and down then it shut down.... Very strange. It always boots fine when I don't try to eject the disc as I tried numerous times last night and it's always been bullet proof during gaming sessions and never crashes. It did this twice last night
with different games in the drive ejecting them at around the same point during the start up sequence, and yes you're all probably saying just let it boot before ejecting the disc. My question is though what would make the machine shut itself down by doing
this be it a hardware or software problem? and as I said it didn't just shut down straight away it blinked the power light then closed down like it was meant to do it. Sorry for the long drawn out post and any help would be thankfully received.

    :)

  2. Boot Up Problem.

Hi, I recently bought a new Xbox 360 and when I turn it on it stays on the boot up 360 logo for about 10 Minutes. After that it then takes me to the dashboard. Is there anyway to fix the time I have to wait for the bootup?.

    Try clearing your consoles cache.

On the dashboard go to memory> highlight a device> press Y. You will be asked if you want to perform maintenance, select yes.

See if that has made any difference, but if you bought the console new and you continue to have this problem I would suggest returning it for another unit. You should not really be having any issue with it at all.

Especially given the fact you bought it new.

    Boot up problem.

Unusual shut downs are weird? I haven't heard much of these reports. send feedback to the Microsoft feedback specialists and see if it will get patched.
Xbox Ideas, powered by UserVoice or go too the contact us on the Xbox web site.

but in the meen time i'd start the console and do a Power drain fill: Xbox Guide menu - Shut down - unplug any thing connected towards the console Including the power brick and HDMI - wait 5-6 minutes - plug everything back
in and try it and see if it fixed it.

Cheers for the reply. When I booted it up today again no problems and it went straight to the home screen as usual, so I tried ejecting the disc trick again mid boot and it seems to do it when the machine starts up and the power light dims which seems
to be when the kinect is fired up and bang it shuts down. It's a weird one and I know that it's an avoidable iissue but it's strange that it does it which I suppose is my point. Do you think it's a hardware or software issue as otherwise the console runs
    fine.

Hmmm Alright then so i see as you say its when the Kinect boots up and then it powers down please correct me if i am wrong.

I'm curious how long did you own the console and if you don't remember try to give me an estimate and did you move the console around at any time soon? Maybe switch an outlet or added an extension cable? Well for now try changing the Power option. Settings
    - Power & Start up - Power Mode & Start up - Power Mode (Instant on) - Energy savings (Note this isn't a permanent change just give it a shot.)

Nope nothing has been moved or touched for the eighteen months I've had it since new and it's been rock solid. I only picked up on this issue yesterday when I first turned it on and while it was booting ejected the disc to put in another but as I said in
the previous post it does it around the time the power light fades and kinect kicks in and it's not an instantaneous shut down as the power light flashes up and down like a normal shut down. Maybe others could try theirs at that boot stage to see if theirs
    does the same thing.

    Boot up problem.

Just imagine you turn on the console it starts booting and then you decide to eject the already in the console disc about halfway through the boot process before kinect starts up. It ejects the disc the power light pulses it then sucks the disc back in and
turns off. In all other aspects it works fine. Can anyone see if their machine does the same please. I tried a factory reset and a power cycle and it still does this.

Okay Lets try removing the Kinect from the console clear the system cache and see if it resolves it's self

If it does fix itself then it may be the Kinect draining your console of the power and may need repairs but i currently don't recommend this yet. If i Cannot resolve your issue i'd really start a chat with an Xbox Support agent to get Fast Messages and more
    info on the Topic.

Kinect disconnected and it still does it. I don't see though how it can be faulty as this problem only manifests itself under this particular instance and otherwise the machine runs faultlessly under normal conditions. I need someone to basically confirm
if theirs does the same and then we'll know it's a software glitch not hardware.

Sorry for your issue i can understand it's hard too fix but we do try our best remember that Boot up problem. :)

But anyways i do recommend contacting the Customer support and confirming this but the way i picture this is there a boot up problem resulting a file not being loaded properly therefore it's corrupted and will require a Reset of the system. Please do not
do this yet until a support agent has reviewed your case and encourages you on doing this action.

    Boot up problem.

Thanks for your ongoing help but a corrupted file would cause this to happen every time the machine starts up not just the odd time I decide to eject a disc at a certain point during start up. As I have repeated not ejecting the disc the machine loads up
fine. I did speak to a customer services rep who also was stumped and doing a reset yesterday the problem still exists

Alright from what i see it's a Bigger problem then i expected you may need to go get repairs done towards your console. Before i fully suggest this what did the Support agent say before you ended the Chat/Call did he/she recommend anything?

I think we have a language barrier here as it's not a serious problem. The support agent has never come across this before and although he tried he was little help. I'll repeat it again one more time, the console functions fully in normal day to day operations
I just happened to stumble across this out of pure accident while ejecting a disc during the start up procedure and curious if this a software glitch or not. I'm pretty sure if I send it for repair they would say it's fully functional why don't you try to
emulate the problem on another machine?
