Boot Issues with Xbox Series X

I have been having a recurring issue with my Series X and I can't seem to find anyone else having the same problem.

It started with Instant On. Sometimes when I would boot my console I would be unable to launch any apps or games. I would get the "for some reason that app took too long to start" or" unable to start" errors. Naturally with my experience with Xbox One
instant on needing a full system restart once in awhile to clear its cache I just went and did a Restart Console command. This however resulted in my console never booting back up. The logo light on the console stayed lit and I never got picture back. I would
have to hold the button down until it powered off then power it back on and it works normally for that session.

So I switched to Energy Saving mode ( which doesnt seem to be the same as Xbox One your system still seems to sit in a standby state) and the problem continues except now when I turn my controller on it pairs but my Xbox never powers on, the logo light stays
off and no chime. If I push the power button it chimes and lights up but I never get a picture. Again holding the power button and then turning it back on works. This happens every time I turn my console off and then later back on.

I had a disc in the drive the entire time these issues were happening so I removed the disc and things seemed to be working fine for a couple days but now its back to doing it again. The only thing that works is doing a "full shutdown" from settings. This
works but I can not enjoy any of the associated features of my console for Instant On like keeping my games updated and being able to do remote play. I have had my console on two different displays. It is using the power cable and HDMI cable that came with
it. The power cable is plugged directly into my wall. I have a Sabrent SSD hub with two external SSDs inserted and 1 cable going to the Xbox (honestly typing that out maybe I'll check and see if theres something wrong there but why would that cause boot issues?)

I don't know you might have to completely
reset your xbox

But why would it be hot while it's off?

That only happens to me when my xbox is too hot so try letting it cool down? I'm better with computers than xbox so sorry if my advice doesn't work

It’s crashing for me also. Booting back to the Home Screen. I have the physical disc downloaded to the Xbox One X system so it’s not a specific issue to the Series X. This will most likely have to be patched at Microsoft. The base game works only when downloaded to the system offline. The forced update while online causes it not to boot up.

The issue ended up being the external hard drive I had connected, it had system config data from a Series S I used to have. If I booted the series x without the hard drive attached no issues. I re-formatted the external hard drive and the issue went away.
