Undead, I CAN'T USE IT!

Just because someone can't use it doesn't make it crap. It still works great; we just can't use it.

I don't have a cable box, that's my reasoning behind why I can't use it. What's yours?

 

I hope they make it so you can buy themes and make the titles transparent

 

What N7 said. These updates are great but most of this stuff should have been day 1. MS just give these people voice message just to shut them up. I dont like voice because of spam. But i know there people that what them so i understand why we need them.
MS should add a opation that you can select were you can get voice message from people that are not your friends or favs.

 

Sounds like a good update to me ;-) I wonder when preview members will start getting this update? Now I need to go see what I want to use as a background.

@Trooper you can already stop receiving messages from people. There is also an option to disable communocations via voice.

 

@24... But is that option everyone only? I would like the option to exclude voice & text messages from everyone but my friends. Not sure if that is possible?

Go to Settings--> Privacy/Online Safety --> Customize --> Communicate with Voice and Text. Set to Everybody, Friends or Block. If you set to friends only you wont hear or receive messages from people who are not a friend.

Just a personal experience Ive had: Was in a party with 3 forum regs. 2 had this set to everybody and the 3rd had it set to Friends only and had to switch it so he could hear one person he couldn't. I dont have a 360 to confirm it would block voice messages
but try it and see.

 

Also to add to my previous post, when I had this set I only received text messages from friends. Even when people followes me, I didnt receive a message.

 

I am interested in seeing how they would implement in xbox one...I don't want to block regular voice communications (that would be a pain to deal with when there are sometimes good strangers I want to communicate with while playing team games)...I just want
to block voice messages from all but friends. Not sure if Microsoft breaks it out like that.

Regarding the background part of the update, they moved the ability to change your tile color to a new section under settings called "My Xbox" which is located on the bottom left of the screen. This is also where you can go to declare your "Home Xbox" as
well as choose a system-specific color for your background (basically the same colors you can choose for your tiles + black) instead of an actual image. Due to the new background changes, they've also changed how you can interact with achievements if you go
into the achievements app (full-screen) and look at them individually - the whole menu looks different.

The whole profile update looks awesome too, but I've noticed that the "motto" from the Xbox 360 is noticeably absent.

 

^^Umm isnt a motto and Bio basically the same thing?
