Boo Hiss Season Pass

I've come to the conclusion that all games going forward are being sold in installments.

 

Yep, the season pass everything this Gen is just another reason my buying Games has dropped from 24 Games a year to 1 or .5 per year. Way to go Publishers now you get nothing from me.

The sooner people stop buying Games all together or at least start a limit 1 per year the sooner the Industry gets the message. But too bad it's not going to happen. I see another Video Game Industry crash in the near future.

 

If everyone stops buying games all together than there'll be no games industries... and buy 1 game per year, would have to be a bloody good game to hold my attention for a year lol. If you want to make a point than buy the game and not the season pass/DLC.

I don't buy many games as I used to, but that's just because I don't have the money to buy all the games that comes out in a year, so I have to be picky what game I buy anyway.

 

DWoodbine, let me clarify a bit. What I meant by "all" Games I guess I should have placed a disclaimer on saying all Games that Season Pass their Game even before it has a Retail Release.

Buying just the Game and not the Season Pass will not stop this rampant problem in the Industry. If a Game is chopped into pieces even before it is released just to sell a Season Pass at a later date means the fact still remain people are supporting the concept
it's okay to buy half a Game and simply allow the Publishers and Developers to cut up what would otherwise be a complete Game and sell everyone half (or less) for full Retail Price.

Oddly enough the XBox thinks I've spent 16 hours in "Fallout 4", a graphically uneven experience with a tacked on Minecraft mode who's publishers not only had the cheek to hold back content to slowly bleed to players in the hopes of getting you to pay for
the game twice through a "Season Pass"... but to thank everyone for what a great success it all is... they hiked the price of the held back content by upping the Price of the Season Pass.

"Fallout 3" was a great game. "Fallout 4" falls short of the high benchmark Bethesda has set with it's previous in house development titles.

If I've been gaming for 15 minutes it's no surprise that someone who's only been gaming for 5 minutes would be lapping up this sort of rinse and repeat stuff up and trying to defend a greedy publisher.

You have no idea how much I pay for my games so why pretend to?

I don't know why but I love to ho to all the developers Twitter page and give out to them about their season pass junk. It makes me feel good lol.

 

Genchy, I wouldn't even bother. Until someone finds a cure for stupidity, people will keep saying stupid thing's.

 

It's almost enough to make you want to join Twitter, just so you can give them a piece of your mind.

Some Publishers have a better attitude towards their Customers than others certainly and it's nice when games buck the current greedy trends.

Deepsilver's "Homefront" is not going to be releasing the first year's DLC for free as you've pointed out in another thread.

Square Enix's "Hitman" may be bought in installments but may also be bought for new game price which gives you access to all the content that they release for it without paying extra to get all the content.

Blizzard have ruled out "Overwatch" making you pay more for more heroes and maps which is great news.

2K said that "Evolve" had made enough to be be considered a success but acknowledged that their DLC model had put people off.

Sounds like people are actually starting to vote with their wallet and this is making an impact for the better as far as being a gamer goes.

All the DOOM DLC seems MP oriented so missing out on it shouldn't be too big a deal.

 

Yeah but the Doom DLC is really lackluster. 15 quid get a few maps, a few skins and few perks and a new weapon. Luckily for me I'm only interested in the SP.
