I was really excited about "Doom".

Even a little interested in the Pre-Order bonus even though the Multiplayer isn't what I got the game for.

Then... saw it on the Marketplace last night.

"Doomigital Deliuxe Edition": £80.00 including the Season Pass and in an instant my excitement fizzled.

I realise I don't have to buy it.

Just sick of seeing day 1 held back content.

This is the most sorry excuse for a "game" I've ever seen.

You may want to find a new hobby. If that really surprised you, you haven't been buying many games.

 

I know what you mean.

They only put the Digital Deluxe version up yesterday.

Before that it looked like there were only 2 options and that Bethesda were actually being a little gracious toward the players.

They are the same money grabbers that made "Fallout 3.5" though.

 

Keep an eye on sites like cd key's for a better deal...... Often a massively better deal.

 

Nothing wrong,nothing new,it happens "all the time" with digital.

Better to pre-order and pre-download 2 or 3 weeks before release.

Before that,it's usually just a place holder.

I hate held back content too. I hope that is not the case with this game. Day 1 dlc is not always held back content. A friend of mine worked on some early dlc for some games. His company was contracted to make it and paid accordingly. The main dev.
could not have made it so it was not really held back content. Of course we have seen games where the content was obviously cut for future offer. Hope that is not the case here and they actually have other teams working on the extra content. For myself
anyway, that becomes more understandable as they have to pay these people separate for the content. No dlc charge and they would probably just not make it.

 

There's hope. Homefront will not have a season pass or paid dlc. All dlc will be free as it's ready. they specifically said they do not want season passes so maybe we will see a trend?

 

Doom should be great ...... just buy the game you don't need the season pass. Doom will have an open beta from April 15 - 17, check the multiplayer out and see if you have any interest in it and then complain about the season pass if you need it. I rarely
buy MP only season passes, the vanilla original maps are usually the most played anyway.

Fallout 3.5 yea a game that most people get hundreds of hours out of, real money gtabbing there. Don't know what your complaining about anyway you regularly pay full price for games you play for quarter of an hour.

 

I rented Fallout for awhile and loved every minute of playing it. In fact, I'm still playing it. I waited until I saw it in the "Spring Sale" to make my purchase and got the whole works... game, season pass and all for $65. Enjoy your "Fallout 3.5". A little
patience netted me Fallout 4.05.

As for Doom, well... patience will likely pay off again. I'm no fan of how much DLC seems to be ramping up in price either. Looks like there will be more waiting and less pre ordering games in my future. Fine by me. No matter if it's content being shoved
up theirs, or me telling them to kiss mine, I'm the one who is in control of the... bottom... line...

 

Would never buy it at £80 digitally, I may pick up the game on release but will get it at some point either way, I was a little disappointed it doesn't offer co-op. Don't think I would buy dlc for a game like this unless it added to the singleplayer

 

I rarely buy DLC unless it's on sale, you can still enjoy the game without it.

 

I agree with R1CH5TER. I wouldn't buy dlc for a game like this without SP dlc either. Did anyone see what these dlc packs include? Scandalous.
