Bold statement from CDprojekt red developer

As others have said, why is this even a thing? People act like the $400 console they just purchased, be it Sony's or Microsoft's, is some high end machine. If anyone is that concerned with resolution, you shouldn't be gaming on a console.

 

Isn't that article from Aug 2014? Perhaps DX12 has improved, perhaps not.

Strange though that a dev. would "trash" a platform by saying they would rather play on a low powered PC than an Xbox One then go ahead and try and sell Xbox One owners their game.

Oh well, I'm sure the game will still look great regardless.

 

I slated the Xbox One on numerous occasions, but Phil taking over made me have that urge to buy One, something that idiot Matrick never did.

Well I did buy an Xbox One, I remember the big hoo haa about Dead Rising 3, only 720P/30fps, i admit I slated it, but I have been playing DR3 and it looked amazing, apart from the odd texture popup, the amount of zombies of screen is insane. Even at 720p
the game is great looking, so if I can get over the resolution thing then its about time other Xbox gamers get over it also.

Been playing ACUnity once again the game is lovely looking. I have ordered Sunset Overdrive for £20 from Amazon, the game looks a lot of fun, not sure what the resolution is, do I care Nope, because I want to enjoy the game.

Xbox One Assassins Creed Bundle with Kinect plus Dead Rising 3 and £20 MS Store voucher for £299.99, Im glad I made the jump.

Kinect was so handy for Dead Rising 3, never though I would see me actually praising the Kinect, the voice commands do need a bit of work.

 

it's too early in the morning to have my mind blown @Major Angry, but it's good to see that someone was able to get over the "inferior" console stigma, and just enjoy the console and games, DR3 is pretty awesome, i was a fan of shaking the controller to
get zombies off of me, hope you enjoy Sunset Overdrive, i think it's one of the best games i've played for the new gen so far.

and i agree with Eggnogga, people are expecting too much from a $400 console, was looking at Dell the other day and $400 basically gets you a computer was 4gbs of RAM, maybe an i3 processor and Intel integrated graphics chip, doesn't seem like something
you'll be able to do a lot of gaming on.

Steam hardware survey, the 'average' PC isn't far off from what you describe, basically just a little more RAM.

PCs like that can work brilliantly as consoles. By that I mean they can be used to emulate consoles and their games going back decades.

Integrated graphics have also come a long way too. Sure you're not going to be running Tomb Raider at Ultra on a Intel HD Graphics 4000 integrated card but you'll get middle to low settings at a consistent 30fps.

 

that is interesting to see though kinds of statistics, and in hindsight, i should have elaborated that depending on what you're looking for, a console will have more "bang for the buck".

Agreed N7. I have been coming and going to check the forums for threads, and you always find a negative thread. Although, this isn't from the OP a developer said this on Twitter.

The Xbox One is plenty powerful. I don't know if this developer had a bad experience with the SDK or an an agenda. Fact is it will be tough to tell the difference between 900p or 1080p when it's said and done. And honestly what does it matter? Is someone
really going to sit with 2 Exact TV's and opposing consoles and play the game simultaneously? Resolution - gate is out of control.

Can't argue bang for your $. Xbox has always offered more than just a single gaming experience. Xbox innovates and evolves through a console generation.

you spend the sort of money mentioned before on a PC, you're essentially buying an Xbox 360. You'll be gaming at that sort of level. That's not a slight to the 360 by the way, it's an awesome console.

A slight segway. I have a 26 Inch HDTV and can see the quality difference when going from VHS, to DVD, to blu-ray. According to all those charts out there I shouldn't be able to tell the difference but I can. Sure its not a massive difference but there is

People expect something new to be better by default, and for the most part the One is better than the 360. However given the huge increase in hardware, I don't think it is the increase that people were expecting.

 

The thing is, thats after 10 years on the 360 which managed to run some games in full HD ud expext the next iteration to run not all but most games in full HD.

Reality is that it is running most games in sub hd and only a handfull in full HD.

Well it is what it is, am not here bashing the x1 i paid more than 600$ for mine day one, but i guess am gonna end up buying a ps as well to play 3rd party games in their full potential and keep x1 for the great exclusives it has. Which is kinda expensive
since am gonna be only buying a ps to play the better version of 3rd parties while am not interested in any of their exclusives, my expectation where that x1 was the all in all console but it isn't

the 360 had 8 years to get where it is.. X1 is just over a year old.. with new tech and new ways of doing things.. also was released a year too early.. all assumptions have been it was to be released at the same time with W10 and DX12.. do you remember what
